a precious child is gone, at the hands of immature teens, who have the physical strength of adults, without maturity or concept of what “final” means. of how fragile life can be.

much of the duty of parents is to socialize their children so they are fit to be in public spaces.
fathers play an important role in this.

teen/child violence happens ‘way too often, more often with knives/handguns. death is final. no do overs.
there is a ripple effect of damage, from the victim and his/her family+loved ones, to perps, witnesses, bystanders, first responders.

there are so many pitfalls, it’s a marvel any of us makes it to adult years, ages 15-25 are specially dangerous years.

it is a form of death when children-teens decide to turn their backs on their God-given identity to test boundaries, experiment with the unknown, etc. (i hadn’t thought of it like that, but, yes, i think so.)

i have a cousin who, decades ago, decided to change her name (not sex) because of some deep personal trauma, o my goodness, how hard it was to accomplish! decades later, it’s still not a success, many address her by her chosen name when she’s present, but automatically return to her birth name when she’s not. nothing malicious. she was loved for who she was. name+all. esp her mother wanted to cling to the name she gave her precious newborn.

my cousin has accepted the difficulty, she holds onto her chosen name, but accepts reality of how difficult change can be.
her parents are gone.

i don’t intend to speculate about this precious child.
just sad how our culture forces so much on children+teens - as-if they didn’t have enough to contend with trying to grow up.
“advanced confusion” required for all.

Interesting that they released data before the autopsy was completed.

Well maybe they actually know what the cause of death was. I mean, if the child went home and intentionally overdosed on pills, and it was known, then they could probably safely say without a autopsy that it wasn’t trauma. Without saying all that they know.

Well I’ve seen talk of suicide but I can’t find any source for those rumors. Saying something and saying full results will come later is odd.

I had seen this topic, but don't read political stuff, so I didn't know till just this morning that this happened in the school system where i attended all 12 years of school. Over the intervening years Owasso has gone from a small Cherokee town to a metropolis. Nothing like the little town I knew back then. (But I was very seldom in Owasso, except for school. We did our shopping in the town of Collinsville, which was not only 1 mile closer, but also had a lot more stores. Now it is the little dinky town, and the place where I grew up is now a part of Owasso city limits.)

What is known, suicide rates have been HIGH, now for decades?? It’s a sad possibility.
Bullying, physical and/or emotional, plays a big role.
Children+teens, lacking important life experience, are vulnerable.
Spontaneous combustion can be ruled out.

The emotional trauma of being attacked, having your head bashed on the floor, cannot be quantified.
Many suicides result without any physical contact. It’s personal, different victims will internalize differently.
No one human law will fix it. Shame on organized political blocs for exploiting tragedies. Not helpful.

Youth Bullying and Suicide:
Risk and Protective Factor Profiles for Bullies, Victims, Bully-Victims and the Uninvolved

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8910292/
Abstract
Bullying is closely associated with suicide.

This study validates mixed evidence on whether young bullies, victims, bully-victims, and those uninvolved in bullying differ in suicidality, risk, protective factor profiles, and predictors of suicide.

A total of 2004 Hong Kong adolescents and young adults completed the Hong Kong Online Survey on Youth Mental Health and Internet Usage in 2018. Bullies, victims, and bully victims, as opposed to the uninvolved, were found to possess higher tendencies of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. They had more distinct rather than overlapping risk and protective factor profiles yet shared psychological distress and diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder as common predictors of suicide. The results indicate that suicide screening assessments and training to detect common suicide predictors can benefit youngsters regardless of their bullying involvement. From the discussion, group-specific interventions include restorative justice approaches to promote reintegration and help-seeking among bullies, peer, and professional support programs geared towards lowering victim isolation and equipping gatekeepers such as teachers with skills to connect with both bullies and victims.

No one has good answers.
One awful problem is, no matter how well-intended, talking about it can be hazardous.

Suicide is a long time response to (often) short term problems. The young are vulnerable, they lack perspective.
Heart breaking.

Robin Williams, not young, committed suicide.

Literally, “we” do not know what we’re doing. Outside Jesus Christ, it’s all experiments.
He came for a deeply troubled world, not unlike the one we experience.

Blessings for everyone.
