I've been praying for her and her family since I first heard the news. I have been praying for her protection and wisdom since I first heard her speak.
Charlie Kirk Shot

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Good to know. She could use some Amish bishops standing in front of her right now.
Standing between her and cameras.

One positive thing I’ve heard is that many vigils have been led by pastors and altar calls have been given and responded to.

Re: Charlie Kirk Shot
I wouldn't personally attend a vigil for Charlie Kirk, because I don't share his same faith, and don't want to be identified with a political movement. But I'm fine with more people believing in God, and being serious about their faith, because that search can lead them to further explore what it means to be a Christian and a follower of Jesus, and lead them out of the errors that people like Charlie Kirk represent.

Turning Point USA is a political organization.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 3:42 pm If people hold a selectively positive picture of Charlie Kirk, but that image inspires a movement toward free speech, respectful conversation, and genuine debate rather than demonization, that would be a good outcome. If Turning Point elevates those values as its central virtues, and politicians on both sides use his death to promote them, that could serve the country well.
But others may want to take things in a very different direction. Kirk said and did many things, and his words can be used to justify more divisive paths too.
America is at a crossroads: culture war or mutual dialogue, hate or mutual respect. If Turning Point chooses to embody Kirk at his best, it could be a genuine force for good. If, instead, his death is used to fuel deeper conflict, it will only pour gasoline on the culture wars—and that would be a very bad thing.
Turning Point Action is a get out the vote organization.
Turning Point Faith is a faith based organization.
I suspect each will honor Charlie in their own sphere in their own way. Some will disagree with some of their direction as some disagreed with some of their direction with Charlie still alive.
We are doing well to keep the discussion on Charlie. Let's keep doing that in this thread. Any political discussion needs to be done in the Politics section.

Our city is doing one tonight in a park right by our house. We are about to walk over and quietly attend. Well, I am going to be quiet. My son is riding in the Trump Train then attending.mike wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:16 pmI wouldn't personally attend a vigil for Charlie Kirk, because I don't share his same faith, and don't want to be identified with a political movement. i’ve been impressed with the not-political nature of the vigils i’ve seen. that’s an accomplishment. i’m encouraged.mike wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:16 pmI wouldn't personally attend a vigil for Charlie Kirk, because I don't share his same faith, and don't want to be identified with a political movement. didn’t know about this.Turning Point Faith is a faith based organization.
CK seems to have found respect across the board in Christianity. to an unusual extent.
To me, that can only be possible when people sense the message is Jesus’, not CK’s.
To me, that’s got to be the hope of anyone sharing their faith, the Gospel. Not me - Him.

yes. at the same time, no loss of denom identity. (example, EO is not about to become CK!) but, EO is present.Valerie wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 9:17 pmI’m thankful for the Church to let denominational walls fall down and look unified which is a witness to unbelievers and causing unbelievers to seektemporal1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 9:10 pmi’ve been impressed with the not-political nature of the vigils i’ve seen. that’s an accomplishment. i’m encouraged.mike wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:16 pm

i’ve never seen anything like it. it will be interesting to see what follows.
the timing, following Pope Leo’s introduction, seems not coincidental. young people are seeking.
many have prayed for divine intervention for decades. i’m sure of it.

Re: Charlie Kirk Shot

Sang some songs. Had some people share what Charlie meant to them. Calls for peace and a strong recognition of the spiritual battles in our society today. One man even said that if the assassin accepted Christ and made it to heaven, Charlie would be the first to hug him as he got there. I thought that was a nice message.
