Haiti Kidnapping

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

I suppose, sort of. Apparently there was no Haitian driver. Media reported and ran with it.
Well I'm glad he/she was freed then!

Rumor has it, to make a long story short, that there was nobody around, and they walked out to a phone. It wasn't quite that simple.
I have not heard a corroboration.

We would be wise to stick with "praise the Lord" comments at this point. There are some "heavy" issues that the victims, CAM and authorities have to sift through before much can be released, if at all.

It is so nice to see these pictures, and see that our family members are okay.

So many stories/rumors flying. It will be nice to hear the whole straight story soon. Glad they are all back in the good old US of A.

The media is pestering everyone they can right now, trying to get information.

It certainly is Mike!

No doubt it's going to take a good while for these dear folks to work through the emotional and perhaps physical trauma they have faced in captivity. We need to keep them lifted up in prayer...there will be scars...and as a faith community, we need to provide them space and grace and support to begin healing. Thankfully, we serve a God who heals.

CAM plans to do a press conference on Monday. It will be interesting!
The last group of captives were not released by the kidnappers.
Please do not share more information on the web, other than what is shared in public statements by CAM. There is concern about how this story could affect others still held hostage.

So that little snippet is common knowledge by the media circus now?
