(I think that was in the thread that was removed, right?) Obviously I don't know more about this than any other person who basically knows nothing about it, but I don't see anything in the reported facts so far that clearly suggests that the perpetrator knew her, or was known to her.
There were one or two news reports shortly after Sasha went missing that quoted the San Juan County Sheriff's Office spokesperson as saying that they had no evidence of Sasha interrupting a burglary. I haven't seen any official news about it other than those early news reports. If an interrupted burglary is something that actually happened then the police must be keeping quiet about it.

"We're definitely investigating all avenues as possible," Harcrow said. "As for the burglary in progress, we have no information to indicate it's actually true."

I do recall a few statistics we learned from when my sister-in-law was murdered, tho.
 Law enforcement knows far more in these cases than they share, and that is certainly for a good reason.
Yes.
It seems, the more they know, the less they share in public. As you say, for good reason.
They must be right, they must protect their legal case, they must not inadvertently tip off perpetrators, they must not endanger innocents, and more.

i was thankful to read from Sasha’s family they have gratitude toward law enforcement,
this indicates they did not feel ignored, as happens in some cases. indications are, investigations are ongoing.

the person(s) needs to be stopped from doing more harm.

FYI...

With a population of 45,000, and being a shopping center for man miles around, not sure it’s accurate to call it a “pretty small town”. But I guess that’s all relative.

It’s not in the middle of, or even on, the Navajo Nation.

A Letter recently written by Sasha:
Dear .....
Greetings in Christ's Name!
I was terribly sorry to hear you've had to be in the hospital again . . . I hope they can get your medicines adjusted so you can stay out a while! But all that's in God's hands, so we'll just leave it to Him.
I was reading the book of Job again recently . . . you know, I read that book several times as a child, puzzling my baby brains to their max to try to understand all that talking and decide who was right and who was wrong. Never did get very far. But now that I'm older, I find that life has a way of explaining things, and I gather so much more from the book.
Probably the biggest puzzle to me was the way God talked to Job. Job had so many questions: and they were good questions too. Why should a righteous man suffer? Where is God when calamity strikes a good family? Where can I find God so that I can explain to Him that I really don't deserve this and get Him to tell me what's going on?
.....You know, God Himself said Job was a righteous man, and He never said Job deserved all of that suffering. But He didn't answer Job's questions. Instead, He asked questions of His own. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Can you make it rain when it's dry? Can you stop the rain when it's falling? Where does the wind come from, really?
When I was a child, God's answer seemed almost harsh. Now that I've been through a bit more, I'm beginning to understand, I hope, a little bit. God was using word pictures to tell Job, '"Here you are trying to play God. Life has many, many things about it that you don't know, and can't know, and couldn't do anything about. Life is bigger than you are. But l know all those things. I can control all of those things. Leave it to me. You don't understand, and you don't need to understand. I am God. I will take care of life. Calm down, and let Me do it."
Job humbled himself, quit playing God, and calmed down. God gave him back everything he had lost, and Job lived to be way over one-hundred. I don't think I want to live to be over one-hundred, but I think that God let Job be that old, and blessed him so much, because He wanted to leave us a picture of the blessings He has waiting for us in heaven, and He knows our minds are too little to understand heaven.
On a more earthly topic . . . I spent most of last Friday and Saturday painting the little trailer on the hill that they are fixing so I can move into it. It looks much better. The place is quite old, very small, and a bit rickety, although not awful, so we've taken to calling it "the mansion on the hilltop," or "the ivory tower," or things like that, as a joke. The boys at work are a little disappointed that it's getting fixed up, I think. They had wanted to use it for a bonfire! I'm just glad to have a little place of my own … what do I care if it's old!
Otherwise, life goes on much as normal. Of course, as they say, "Normal is just a setting on the dryer." No two days are ever quite the same, we just have to take them one at time, and trust God a lot.
…………………………………………………………………..
Well, it's getting late, and I'd better close this letter. .....God bless your day!
Love,
Sasha

i love her sweet salutation. :D
these used to be a more common way of beginning letters.
the enthusiasm and warmth touches the heart.

(we can imagine) whoever was responsible for harming her was, at least, introduced to authentic faith. we can pray for him/them to be changed, to come forward in deep repentance.

what a treasure Sasha was on earth. a blessing for her loved ones.

I had a chance to dig into this a bit early this morning. No additional details have come out, at least from the people who would actually know, like law enforcement. I did read they are pursuing leads, though.

As far as the keyboard ninjas on FB, that's another story.
