"Joy"]Mrs. Thompson doesn't strike me as a victim, sending nude photos of herself to a man not her husband. She wasn't a child nor an employee. "Brave" would have been to refuse, and to turn him in when he asked for them. Blackmailing--a criminal act, right?--for five million makes her story lose credibility.
Agreed. The dynamics of the relationship between Ravi Z. and Lori Thompson was that Ravi Z. had more power of her. Did Lori Thompson's history of suffering from abuse make her more vulnerable to Ravi’s attentions? In all likelihood it did. However when we look at the life of Joseph, he was a man severely abused by his brothers. The dynamics of his relationship with Potipher’s wife was that she was the one who had more power over him. Despite of his suffering in the past and the fact that a beautiful woman was tempting him, Joseph had the strength and honor to “RUN” from the tawdry situation. That is not to excuse Ravi z in any way, but Mrs. Thompson bears some responsibility for her participation.

Yes.
In US courts, the defendant is charged as either guilty or innocent.

God's justice system works very differently.
He may charge both the plaintiff and and the defendant. He may charge the defendant with murder and the plaintiff for an unforgiving spirit.
Another difference is that the murderer can go to heaven if they repents and the plaintiff can go to hell if they do not forgive.
From God's perspective, everyone needs to take full responsibility for their own actions and response.
At the same time we acknowledge that Jesus thinks it would be better for some people to drowned using a millstone rather than than do damage to others.

I've heard this quote different times over the years and didn't really understand it until this topic arose almost two years ago:

Public opinion doesn't have a law degree.

I guess that means that what we as the majority think should happen, doesn't make it the right thing to happen.

I believe that could parallel to God's judgement as well.

Does anyone know what in the world this is about?

According to Google translate this is what it says.
These 3 Whites are providing food and money to the bandits to buy weapons to terrorize the population.
We urge the Haitian state as soon as possible to say a word about this otherwise the population will take action.
NB: CAM is the organization where these whites are found, CAM itself can make decisions.

^^^ Even I don't even have anything to say about that!

Dare I ask where you found this? My wife has family running an orphanage in Haiti. I know there's lots of unrest at the moment but this is the first I heard about this.

I think that if someone here can read Haitian, then that would give an accurate translation. As it is, the Google translation is too muddled to understand what it is actually saying. (I know from seeing Google translations of Portuguese that it does a pretty poor job, and often can give a completely different, or even opposite meaning.)
I read on farther down (in older posts) on that FB page, and I saw the word "abduct" a number of times. So I wondered if (based on the very little I could understand the poor English) they were protesting the payment of a ransom, which I could understand as their then thinking that this encourages the gang responsible.
In a real sense, it DOES encourage them, and provides funds to continue even worse things. The policy of Wycliffe Bible Translators (with whom we served as missionaries in Brazil) is that no ransom will be paid. It could be said that this resulted in the death of Chet Bitterman, who was killed in Columbia in 1981 or so, but he might have been killed anyway, after a ransom was paid, and then the perpetrators would have been encouraged to continue the same, and also would have provided funds for them in their insurgency against the Columbian government, creating governmental ill-will against Christian mission efforts,

Here’s my less verbatim translation:

“These three white guys are giving food and money to criminals for them to purchase guns to terrorize the population. We’re asking everyone to demand action, calling on the Haitian authorities to pass judgement as quickly as possible in this situation, or else the people will take matters into their own hands.

PS: CAM is the organization where these three foreigners work. CAM itself can decide what to do here.”
