I was wondering how he managed to acquire x.com so quietly and how much he had to pay for it.

So, um. How does this square with the previous quote?
Often "x" is associated with pornography and I suspect that it was a blanket ban on X and variations that are now being corrected.

X used to be an abbreviation for Christ. Odd that the perverts have made sure it’s associated with antichrist things now.

It was the motion picture association that did half a century ago when they came up with movie classifications G, PG, R, and X

Except that they neglected to copyright X and the porn industry took up the label and ran with it. And so the motion picture association had to invent a replacement label that they could copyright and came up with NC-17

So you think movies shouldn't have ratings?

Like AW Tozer, I think the moving picture is a restless evil.

I meant it tongue-in-cheek, but maybe that’s actually, actually what happened? That story mentions “previous owners” though so apparently there was someone between Elon 20 years ago and Elon now.

A domain I used to use now is some kind of pornographic / gambling / crypto oriented site in Asia in some kind of Asian language. Needless to say I don’t want any association with it now.

Note that all these free publicity is great for Musk.

One of Elon's kids is named X. I think it is short for Xavier.

His rocket company is SpaceX. The guy just likes the letter X for some reason. I guess it is allowed for people to have favorite letters. I dislike them all the same amount myself. Literacy is evil at times. ;)

Elon’s son is named X Æ A-Xii.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-ente ... 84043.html
Explaining the meaning behind the name, Grimes said “X” stands for “the unknown variable”. Meanwhile, “Æ” is the Elven spelling of AI, which is shorthand for artificial intelligence and the word for “love” in several languages, such as Japanese.

“A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent,” she added. The “A” in the name also represents “Archangel”, the title of a song by Burial that she has previously described as her favourite.
