Nonsense.

In the 1970s there were a few sensationalist articles in the popular media describing how we were heading for a renewed ice-age. And there were a few contrarian scientists who published articles to that effect. But even during the 1970s the consensus of climate science and vast majority of peer-reviewed research on the topic predicted global warming.

For a detailed discussion of this exact topic read Thomas Peterson's 2008 meta analysis titled "The Myth of the 1970s Global Cooling Consensus" that actually examined the full body of 1970s climate science: https://vortex.plymouth.edu/~stmiller/s ... l_2008.pdf

From the article, this is the actual collective summary of all scientific articles on the subject categorized by whether they predicted global warming or cooling.

In fact, the scientific consensus on global warming goes back much further. Here is the Bell Telephone Hour Science Series from 1958 (it's just a 1-minute clip)

You made an assertion about 1970s climate science. Feel free to back it up with something other than nonsense from some right-wing conspiracy theory blog post.

Where's this right wing blog post? I recall my pastor mentioning that in the 70s they were predicting an ice age. I do think anyone that knows their Bible does not take these predictions very serious whether it be ice age or global warming we know prophetically speaking that's not the way this world is going to end

So you recall your paster mentioning something about the 1970s.... OK

In any event, who said anything about the end of the world? Not one climate scientist is predicting the end of the world. Just that by our actions we are making the world a worse place for people and all of God's creatures.

Yes he mentioned it and i cant remember why- but when he did i was trying to think back, trying to specifically remember that in the 70s possibly vague memory of what would seem nothing to take too serious at the time as i was a teen . So you mentioned a blog post, Id like to read it- my pastor doesn't remind me of someone that spends time reading right wing anything-
You read this blog post yourself?

Yes i agree we are making Gods Creation worse in an abundance of ways and we should all do better. But i jave heard fear tactics from global warming alarmist which as a worse case scenario would come across as a threat to mankind- we just know that this is not how it will play out. Definitely changes were and still are needed.

False. It is not a potent greenhouse gas. Water vapor is much more potent.

Water vapor amplifies the effect of CO2.

We have no control over the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere because the earth is 71% covered by water and water is constantly evaporating from the oceans as vapor and returning as rain and snow. It is a constant cycle that depends largely on the ambient temperature of the earth's oceans and atmosphere.

However we do control CO2 emissions and every fraction of a degree of warming caused by CO2 and other greenhouse gases also pushes more water vapor into the atmosphere because warmer oceans evaporate faster and a warmer atmosphere can absorb more water vapor. So the earth's water amplifies the warming effect of CO2 and basically acts like an accelerant or turbocharger.

Put another way, every ton of CO2 that we spew into the atmosphere causes some additional amount of water to evaporate and also enter the atmosphere where it will amplify the effect of that CO2.

There were times in the past that atmosphere was 24% co2 and we saw a snowball earth.

I am not in the habit of "spewing" CO2 into the atmosphere, but don't these statements seem contradictory?
