Oddly enough, killed by those who supposedly were willing to lay down their lives for their country...
If i’m not mistaken, it’s under reported, the most unarmed martyrs, often attacked/killed in their churches, in the U.S., and around the world, are Catholic. (JayP?)

 i had no idea. he adapts quickly to changing circumstances.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.
It could make for quite unusual turn of events if America and allies at some point needed to send a delegation asking for conditions of peace. I don't expect that at all, but such turn of events have happened in human history.
Apparently did not even have deconfliction protocols in place to prevent “green on blue “ incidents. The Kuwaitis apparently shot down 3 of our planes. The epitome of poor pre.

That's bad enough, but think about how much worse it would be if the US had accidentally shot down its own planes. I learned recently about one particularly horrific incident in WW2 during the invasion of Sicily.
The most significant friendly fire incident during the July 1943 invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky) occurred on July 11, when Allied naval and ground forces mistakenly shot down 23 American C-47 transport planes and damaged 37 others. This, often called the worst friendly fire incident of WWII, resulted in over 300 US casualties, including 81-88 deaths among the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
23 transports full of paratroopers!

There have been friendly fire in many wars. Accidents happen. Americans have shot Americans down before accidentally

Most lords would instead recruit knights which could be substituted to peasants (and would be far better at fighting).
20 men would kill a knight and be far cheaper to equip and train.
Pikes would be the weapon of choice. At Sterling Bridge they stopped a full on charge of mounted Knights.

IFF equipment has become quite sophisticated. I ausp they did not bother to get the Kuwaitis on board.

This equipment right?
The friendly-fire incident highlighted the exceptionally challenging threat environment in the Red Sea, as well as the pressures on air defense personnel. In the tight confines of the Red Sea, U.S. Navy surface combatants often have a matter of seconds to correctly identify a Houthi missile threat and launch an interceptor in response. The risks of miscalculation are high, and this is not the first time that the allied response team in the Red Sea has made a mistake.

In February 2024, the German Navy frigate Hesse nearly shot down a U.S. drone aircraft over the Red Sea. The crew could not identify the drone and concluded that it posed a threat. Due to an unspecified "technical error," two missiles fired by Hesse at the drone both missed. "The case was resolved when it turned out that it wasn't a hostile drone, which only became clear in hindsight," German defense ministry spokesman Michael Stempfle said at the time.
Believe it or not, it happens semi regularly

One would expect it could tell a friendly F-15 from a drone. I guess they wasted their money on that billion bucks IFF system.

Kuwait has been anti Iran for a long time. There is no reason to think they aren’t “on board”.

President Trump said on Tuesday that officials the United States had eyed as potential new leaders of Iran had been killed in the U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign. As the war in the Middle East widened, he said that the worst outcome would be that whoever takes over Iran could be “as bad” as their predecessors.

Speaking to reporters at the start of a White House meeting with Chancellor Friedrich Merz of Germany, Mr. Trump claimed that Iran had been about to attack its neighbors and Israel, and he made the decision to go to war to pre-empt that action. Officials with access to U.S. intelligence have said that Mr. Trump has exaggerated the immediacy of any threat Iran posed to the United States.

When asked about a worst-case scenario for the future of Iran, Mr. Trump said that it would probably be “you go through this and in five years you realize you put somebody in who’s no better.”
Asked who he would like to take over Iran, Mr. Trump gave a strikingly blunt answer. “Most of the people we had in mind are dead,” he said. “Now we have another group, they may be dead also, based on reports. So you have a third wave coming. Pretty soon we’re not going to know anybody.”
Oops.
