I have heard no gossip or rumours.
Have you, or anyone else, heard any facts?

This is CAM’s official statements which is all the information I have heard. Obviously there are many things going on behind the scenes which the public doesn’t need to know.

Yes, but I have mostly refrained from sharing them.

growing up, i heard these less-than-comforting, but usually true words, quite a lot. :-|

There hasn’t been any new news coverage in about 5 or 6 days. A couple of news outlets have republished old information about the case, but I haven’t seen any new developments in the news. Not even any public editorializing about the case.

Read a bit of an update this morning from my wife's cousin who runs an orphanage in Haiti, not specifically about the CAM missionaries, though.

The conditions are worsening every day. People are taking refuge in the hospitals. Gasoline is $25/gallon and is obviously scarce but somehow the gangs have plenty to play arson and terrorize the common folk. Many missions that rely on generators are going for days on end without power due to breakdowns or lack of fuel, or lack of getting someone out to work on them.

But perhaps you all knew this already.

Some of the Mennonite missions are temporarily closing up shop in the face of security issues and lack of fuel. They simply can't do their work in these conditions. It is tragic for the people of Haiti - the country is slipping into anarchy. Reminds me some of post civil-war Somalia.
