i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Looks the cease fire is falling apart.

I'm trying to imagine some way this war could end. It seems like this cycle will continue for a good long time, without an end in sight.

The rosie predictions at the start of a war rarely come true.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

It’s the forever war Trump promised to keep us out of.

Wars end when one side no longer believes they can win. Right now both the US and the Iranians believe they can win.

It's hard for me to see the President landing troops for various reasons so would guess it just simmers down and smart countries will quietly make deals with Iran to get their ships through, Iran will slowly rebuild with trade help from India or Russia or China or Pakistan or all of them, and a portion of the ship tolls will go into funding terror.

This is like one of those bad popcorn movies… I genuinely have no idea what is going to happen anymore.

Until the US can figure out a way to stop drones, all of them, I expect the situation to continue to be a nightmare. Even then, it could still be a nightmare.

At least before the war started, oil was cheaper and ships could sail freely.

It has been a nightmare for the people of both Ukraine and Russia for a while now.

Drones will continue to become more horrific as the capability to run fully autonomous AI becomes reality. Anyone (a state, a rogue terrorist, an ex boyfriend with a grudge) will be able to configure a drone that lies idle, reads news off the Internet etc until it is activated and then hunts for a specific person, ship , etc and delivers a bomb or other destruction.

It's often the little things that keeps the US and other countries from being able to have decisive victories.

Korea:
Choke Point Valleys: The only flat areas were narrow valleys. Enemy forces easily set up ambushes along these paths, trapping entire U.S. vehicle convoys

Vietnam:
Triple-Canopy Jungles: Natural Booby Trap Coverage:

Iraq:
The IED Threat: The flat, paved roads of Iraq allowed the enemy to hide Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) inside fake rocks, dead animals, or trash piles, destroying U.S. patrol vehicles.

Afghanistan:
Ancient Cave Networks: Mountain ranges like Tora Bora were honeycombed with natural and man-made deep cave systems. These caves allowed Taliban fighters to survive heavy U.S. airstrikes and disappear completely.

Iran:
Drones
