Most definitely - this is a far better outcome for Tyler than what could have been. He will have the opportunity to defend himself and have the benefit of a trial, something he did not give Kirk. He will also have the opportunity to face the intense suffering and pain that he caused, and confront the evil within himself. For some reason God has given him mercy, and I hope he understands that and takes advantage of that.
I do find it kind of amusing and unseemly that our inept FBI director is out in front of the TV cameras crowing about how "WE GOT HIM!"

When they did nothing of the sort and he actually just walked into his local sheriff's office and turned himself in.
In the press conference, I heard the governor say "we got him" but didn't hear Patel say it.
Maybe. Various media outlets are posting headlines like this so who knows:

They are farming political outrage which was Charlie Kirk's stock-in-trade and what made him rich. According to media reports, doing his outrage schtick is what built him a $12 million net worth and:

When I think of political outrage, I think of yelling at people and talking over them. I think of someone not even allowing people to voice their own views and denigrating them.

I never saw Kirk do that sort of " political outrage Schtick". I did see him allow people to speak their ideas and beliefs. I saw him debating liberal ideas in a calm and kind manner, using common sense and rational explanations.

He isn't even buried yet and to me, the thought of him being lied about, is just sad.

I don't think Kash Patel said that, but someone else did. But it is yet one more thing that can be added to "Ken's list of lies".

If the FBI had Not posted a photo of the young man, the father would not have known it was his son who did the shooting. So, the FBI did have a part in finding him.

For now I will say he seemed to be a man of action who liked to engage in conversation with people who disliked him. In those ways I would like to be more like him.
Or the right subforum.

May I highlight something??? Both you and Robert said "Shut up" a few posts back. My parents never permitted me to say "shut up" as a child, so I took notice of it in your post.

I've seen reports that his home church was Godspeak Calvary Chapel of Newbury Park, CA. I don't think they are Catholic. Would it be accurate to describe his religion as Christian Nationalism?
I was incorrect. His wife is Catholic (as far as we know; grew up Catholic and has attended Mass to the present day). He was described as evangelical but has been observed attending Catholic masses with his wife, in addition to continuing to attend evangelical type of churches.

Whatever his religion is, it's not Christian Nationalism; it's just the same sort of religion many other people in America have.

The suspected shooter, a Tyler Robinson, is in custody.

He was apparently turned in by his father, who recognized him from the photos released by law enforcement.
As scriptures inform, being a parent can mean excruciating pain.
Praise God his father and pastor friend, found the strength to face brutal reality. They saved Tyler’s life.
Nothing will be easy. Tyler has an opportunity to repent and seek salvation.
As a dad I can't think of something more awful to face. :( :( :(

I did not post "Shut Up!" I posted shut up and listen. I am not yelling, but offering advise to help those grieving and letting some of the tension go by.

I can not for the life of me figure out why a Mennonite forum with Mennonites dominating the forum can not pause and be respectful for a few days at the loss of life and the tragic way it happened.

I do not know what compels some to have to interject their negativity at this time. I brother in Christ was killed as he was sharing his faith and working to draw others to Christ. He was not doing it as I would do it, but he was doing it in a way that was drawing many younger people to faith. For those who watched the video of the assassination, watch what he shared right before he was shot. The first question was about faith and he took almost 10 minutes sharing about faith and his faith.

There will be plenty of time to discuss his political beliefs and they can be discussed in the Politics Section. Here, we should just reflect on the event that is currently unfolding.

You have a point; I should have used less harsh terms and will try to do better.
