Poll: Personal Coronavirus Permanent Impact

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

I, or someone I’m close to will be hospitalized.

After almost two weeks on the ventilator, a few days in a regular hospital room, and two weeks in rehab to deal with other complications, she is now back home.
Since posting this I've known many people with confirmed or assumed cases, but not until last week has a close acquaintance died. He was the father of the woman mentioned above.

Sorry to read this.
Did your friend’s father have an extended battle like she did? Were their cases separate? (There seems to be quite a lot of time between the two. A year or more?) It’s all so sad.

1. Many Americans are narcissistic, having little knowledge of or concern for what happens in other countries.
2. Many Americans look at almost every issue through a political lens.

I would hope more of us here could learn to adopt a global Kingdom perspective.
It really was the very beginning of the Covid announcement in the U.S. that people were more suspicious of it being political, before there was worldwide reporting done, and spikes hadn't been tracked, it was too early.

It was politicized soon after Trump banned flights to & from China when Pelosi was accusing Trump of racism for banning flights.
Its been poltiicized here all along.
It really was awful. And, he was right.
What he tried to do was THE MOST BASIC COMMON SENSE enlisted throughout history, before the U.S. existed.
Isolate pathogens, don’t put them on vessels and export them all over the world as fast as possible.
[Racism, my foot.] POLITICS is THE dirty word.
History of Quarantine - CDC
The practice of quarantine, as we know it, began during the 14th century in an effort to protect coastal cities from plague epidemics.
