DuckDuckGo's SearchAssist AI says,
The Bahamas does not allow entry to adjudicated rapists from the United States.
Other fact-check sources do not confirm this.
Another list that showed 34 countries that ban the visits of felons did not include the Bahamas.
I also note that nations can choose to waive this ban.
So I don't know if it is true or not. I think I was accurate in writing, "I read that..." It's only a widely held conjecture, as far as I know.
I don't doubt that you read that. My question to you is - "Is it right for a Christian to pass along rumors and conjecture, especially negative rumors, without making any effort to determine if they are true?"
Doesn't that fall into the category of gossip, tattling, and evil speaking, all of which are condemned by the New Testament? Shouldn't the truth be precious to us, so that we are careful not to say things if we don't have a reasonable basis for thinking they are true?
Maybe I should have framed it more as a question about something in the news. Is that the policy of the Bahamas? I'm not going to spend a lot of time trying to confirm or disprove that.
Or maybe, just because I think that Donald Trump lies much more often than he tells the truth, I should automatically believe everything he says isn't true? That is worth considering.

My guess is most folks on here are very well aware of your opinion of the current sitting president. You could probably find a different platform that is more receptive to your venting.
I don’t think it’s very becoming of Christ followers to keep pointing out the faults (whether perceived or otherwise) of others especially those in authority over us. We can always find good things in people. Only pointing out the negative or things we disagree with just looks like politics.
Imagine your entire past being held under a microscope and be embellished a bit, and then only be judged by the worst version of yourself by your enemies.
I simply cringe at the language and behavior of some folks when discussing others. As Christians our duty is to make disciples. Hard to do that when more time is invested in the earthly kingdom as opposed to the heavenly one.
I encourage you to pray for our leaders even as we are taught to in Scripture.

It took me literally less than 15 seconds to confirm that the Bahamas rumor was false.
I wouldn't believe or repeat as possibly true anything Donald Trump says without some sort of other verification. I wouldn't automatically call it false, just unverified. Make sense?
Every time I see this thread popping off, it makes my blood run cold. Fortunately so far it's just normal sort of bickering but I never know if something terrible has started again in Iran and I missed it.

In case you need a reminder, then, something terrible has going on in Iran for 47 years.

Trump and many US officials have cancelled other plans for the holiday weekend and are staying in DC. Indications point to a renewal of conflict with Iran very soon as talks have been unproductive. https://x.
i’m uneasy that President T is missing other engagements, including his son’s wedding, staying pretty quiet in D.C.
Praying for resolution.
It was of course Donald Trump Jr’s second wedding after divorcing his first wife and a long relationship and engagement with Kimberly Guilfoyle. Somehow Trump missing Jr’s wedding with his current woman doesn’t feel like that big of a deal.
The word on the street is he is not happy with Don Jr.s choices. Let’s put it this way, he went through a great deal of trouble & sacrifice to be there after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. I’ve seen him go through a great deal of trouble to be there for people. So he would’ve been at Dan Junior‘s wedding. Had he approved of the decision.

I don’t think most on here are that exposed to testimonies of Iranians nor pisdibly were that into the news about these last 47 years to make a fair assessment.

So maybe Trump's answer to Chris IN's "Divorce Question" is that he wouldn't go to the wedding if one party has a former spouse still living...
