i’m not in your league of understanding, insights, leaning, wisdom, evenso, i appreciate what you bring to this forum, there are others present who know better what you describe.

Your efforts are not a lost cause.

No temp, I'm not in any league. If it sounds like it, it's probably because I'm trying to deal with concepts I still haven't got a clear handle on. In other words, I'm over my own head!

Also, I tend to have a kind of pessimistic outlook not shared by people who know much more than me. Let's hope I'm wrong.

The video content describes the suspected reason for these arsons was the ALLEGED school graveyards,
which have been determined to be false, see OP.

It’s reasonable to believe the arsonists are known, but hidden.

It’s reasonable to believe neither Canadian gov nor media is biased toward Catholics/Christians.

CBC News: Why dozens of churches in Canada have been torched and burned / 8:45min
✏️ Description:
A CBC News review has revealed that dozens of churches in Canada have burned down since May 2021,
and dozens more have been vandalized.

CBC’s Terry Reith investigates what’s behind the dramatic rise and why so many of the arson cases remain unsolved.

I agree. And if the children are not in these graves, what happened to them? That's the unanswered question. If children go missing from Catholic schools, aren't those children the ones who have been victimized?

Parents are going to mourn their children when they go missing. That's not the scandal. Denial is not going to help the Catholic Church gain credibility. Something happened to these children - and of course people are going to care about that.

Stockland suggested a cultural divide is at work in the efforts to recover history: Non-Indigenous Canadians approach the claims of unmarked graves as “forensic matters subject to the procedures of criminal investigation, evidence-gathering, and proof beyond reasonable doubt.” But in his view, “many Indigenous leaders make clear repeatedly that the search for children in graves is not about bodily validation of that mistreatment. It’s about mourning the dead: dead children, that is, lost and too often forgotten ancestors.”

Bishop Emeritus Fred Henry of Calgary has said the Catholic Church in Canada should press the government for proof about missing children whose parents didn’t know what happened to them.

“Why is the Catholic Church not asking the federal government for proof that even one residential child is actually missing in the sense that his [or] her parents didn’t know what happened to their child at the time of the child’s death?” he wrote in an email to Toronto’s Catholic Register in August.

Bishop Henry said he went to Catholic media because he had not received a response to an initial group email he sent to his fellow bishops earlier in the summer.

I'm surprised to see some Christians argue that the government should take children away from their parents and put them into schools that teach what the government wants them to be taught.

Do the people who are saying this believe that the government should do this to Christians, too, if our beliefs and practices are not what the mainstream culture wants? If the government took our children away and they disappeared, how would we feel about that?

Amen to this on its own - you’re absolutely right. But since none of us abused children in residential schools you’re out of context in trying to put shame and guilt on us. It shouldn’t surprise you that you get lots of push back since you are tarnishing an extremely valuable principle by your encouragement of forced misapplication upon others.
If it doesn’t involve you, it doesn’t involve you, but there seems to be an a lot of defensiveness on this thread about something that doesn’t involve the participants here. I’m not trying to guilt or shame anyone, but why would you react with guilt or shame for something you haven’t done?

Sometimes that has to happen, like in cases of severe neglect or abuse, and if the parents formerly homeschooled etc their new foster family may have to put them in public school.

Is this controversial?

Of course that’s not good. But when claims of mass graves are made, but there aren’t actually any mass graves, that’s the wrong place to start.

Missing children are the domain of the police, not the church, although civilians can assist in search and rescue. I’m having a hard time seeing how a church running a program for government residential / foster care systems is a bad thing either.

Do you think gathering evidence and finding proof is a good thing or not?

Esp when the investigators are biased AGAINST Catholics/Christians, the negative results are (not what they wanted to find).

i posted the above video to point out the tragedy of (vigilantes) burning down dozens of churches .. will they apologize?
Offer to rebuild? Anything? Will they admit guilt? Will media/politicians/activists admit guilt for (inciting) arson?
