It’s saddening to see a church denomination put itself in league with Satan and take a stance against God’s word.

As a reminder, not only will there be no practicing homosexuals in the kingdom of heaven, nor will there be any of those who condone and promote it:
For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
The one board member was both brave and took a stand for the Bible and Christian living. May the others someday find repentance and turn away from their wicked deeds.

Proverbs 3:5
https://biblehub.com/proverbs/3-5.htm
4Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.…
Not, “He will make your paths proud”… :-|
C.S.Lewis wrote about pride. This was eye-opening for me:

Pride and Humility
https://www.cslewisinstitute.org/resour ... -humility/
C.S. Lewis, another top contender for having had the greatest impact for Christ in the twentieth century,
called pride “the great sin.” Every believer should read his chapter by that title in Mere Christianity.

There Lewis said,
According to Christian teachers, the essential vice, the utmost evil, is Pride.
Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere flea bites in comparison:
it was through Pride that the devil became the devil:

Pride leads to every other vice:
it is the complete anti-God state of mind…… it is Pride which has been the chief cause of misery in every nation and every family since the world began.1

If this sounds like exaggeration, it will help us to know that Lewis is not simply giving us his private opinion but summarizing the thinking of great saints through the ages.

Augustine and Aquinas both taught that pride was the root of sin.2 Likewise Calvin, Luther, and many others.
Make no mistake about it: pride is the great sin. It is the devil’s most effective and destructive tool.

Why do the great spiritual leaders, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant alike, unite around this conviction?
Because it is so clearly and solidly taught in Scripture.

Pride first appears in the Bible in Genesis 3, where we see the devil, that “proud spirit” as John Donne described him, using pride as the avenue by which to seduce our first parents. Taking the form of a serpent, his approach was simple yet deadly. First, he arrogantly contradicted what God had said to Eve about eating the forbidden fruit and charged God with lying.

This shocking rejection of God’s word introduced Eve to the hitherto unknown possibility of unbelief and was intended to arouse doubt in her mind about the truthfulness and reliability of God. In the next breath, the devil drew her into deeper deception by contending that God’s reason for lying was to keep her from enjoying all the possibilities inherent in being Godlike. This clever ploy was aimed at undermining her confidence in the goodness and love of God and arousing the desire to become as God.

The desire to lift up and exalt ourselves beyond our place as God’s creature lies at the heart of pride.
As Eve in her now confused and deceived state of mind considered the possibilities, her desire to become Godlike grew stronger.
She began to look at the forbidden fruit in a new light, as something attractive to the eyes and pleasant to the touch.
Desire increased, giving rise to rationalization and a corresponding erosion of the will to resist and say no. ..
.. text continues.

For me, pride is “the great equalizer” on earth. None of us is exempt. No choice, crime or sin is exempt.
No flags, parades, promotion, legal protections, access to the public treasury, celebration. Not of any sin/carnal sin.
No need to name them (“mere flea bites in comparison”).

Pride is the deal breaker that should end the discussion before it begins. At the Moravian church and for all Christians.
No matter how well-intended, celebrating pride is a lie that should be feared.

This again. If we can have a "pride month", can we have a "straight month"?

How many actually attend this? I have seen media use different camera angles to make attendance appear larger so my query is, has anyone ever noted the actual head count? Is it the same small group that travels the country holding these events as happened with the Renaissance Faires in their early days?

Isn’t every month “straight month?”

Just got back from Portland, OR and I am weary of seeing gay pride flags. I don't believe in street preaching, but Lititz might benefit from this fellow.

Well, that looks like a 2-day event referenced in the article, not a month. But knock yourself out. File for a city permit and organize one. Is there anything preventing it?

On the other hand, all you need to do is turn on the TV, open a magazine, peek at social media, or walk through the mall and you'll be bombarded with with endless and relentless heterosexual messaging. From Taylor Swift to the NFL to Zara and Sephora to the Disney Channel. So I'm not sure how much more we really need. I, for one, think my daughters already get too much of it.

So your solution for too much sexualization, is more variety and quantity of sexualization?

My solution is less of it all around. I'd rather see kids outdoors playing soccer than on gay or strait social media.

I will say that the pride stuff has completely evolved from what it once was. Back in 1995 I was working in Washington DC for a year. I lived in an apartment on 16th St in Dupont Circle which was sort of the gay neighborhood at the time and back then the pride parade would go down 17th street a block from my apartment. It was pretty overt and transgressive and sexual. Fast forward 30 years and if you go to a pride parade these days you will find they have been completely co-opted and appropriated by the corporate world. It is endless corporate floats by companies like Verizon, Nike, Apple, Citi Bank, etc. with their branded rainbow merchandise seeking to market themselves and sell stuff. And there will be 75 corporate worker bees in matching corporate t-shirts marching along to promote the corporate message. While the actual organic gay groups are kind of relegated to the tail end. It is basically like Cinco de Mayo or St. Patrick' day. An excuse to sell stuff.

No. There has never been such a thing.

I am particularly disturbed by the events targeted at children. Children do not belong anywhere near Pride rallies.
