Threatening Fauci with prison is utterly asinine, and in any case, if
Rand Paul wanted to actually do something, he could offer Fauci immunity and then force him to testify.

As it stands, he basically just ranted and raved at him for an hour to no useful effect.

Easterners have a concept called “face”. Admitting their lab was less than 100% perfect would cause them to lose it, and replace “face” with shame. They will never admit their own lab was at fault, even to their partners. Even so, they almost certainly went over the place with a excellent and thorough review to make sure it never, ever happens again.

If seems reasonable to work with cultural customs to avoid offense and maintain good working relationships. What I never understood was why people got so worked up about it here.

My memory says that part of the reason people here got so worked up about it, was because something about Trump being anti-Ukranian, Unraine being corrupt and being sympathetic to Russia, and Ukraine having some American (Fauci/Obama) funded bio labs, which in some way….something something, Democrats, Ukraine, corruption, Hunter Biden, Chinese bio labs, jabs, and masks and Fema camps.

Somehow it was all beautifully linked. Probably need to get Alex Jones to explain it all again.

It does matter for future oversight of labs that track pandemic spread. And that's where Congress has a legitimate role - it's not supposed to be a branch of the Department of Justice or the White House or the Judiciary.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

At the time the Ukraine war started, Covid was still a hot topic, and in Feb 2022, there were still Covid restriction in many parts of the US.

Yes. Both are lying in their own way. This almost always happens in war.

I suspect Putin will take twice as much as he needs, then give back half when negotiations are finally used. This way he gets all he wants, but looks like he is giving up a lot. Then the US/Ukraine can claim they won and so can Putin.
Russia started the war. What were their stated reasons for invading?

The extent to which they have achieved those objectives should tell us how close we are to reaching an end. And also what issues might be subject to some sort of negotiated settlement. As far as I recall, the Russians never claimed this war was about territorial gains. It was about other issues entirely.
Russia's involvement in Ukraine has something to do with:

1. NATO's incorporation of nearly all of the Warsaw Pact countries into NATO since the 1990's (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, etc. as well as Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania which puts NATO right on Russia's doorstep.) Russia opposes NATO's incorporation of Ukraine as that would put NATO's nuclear missiles about 200 miles from Moscow. This is the same reason John Kennedy opposed nuclear missiles in Cuba, in which Kennedy nearly caused a nuclear war with Khrushchev. The war in Ukraine is the path to nuclear war.

2. Russia is upset about the 2014 coup led by the USA and Soros that overthrew the democratically elected government of Ukraine and replaced it with a pro-western government. If the USA can use force to take over Ukraine, then Russia sees that it has the same right to do so.

3. The abandonment of the 2014 and 2015 Minsk agreements, signed by Ukraine, Russia, the UN representatives, and Germany, which guaranteed that the ethnic Russians living in Donetsk and Luhansk would be able to keep their language and their Russian Orthodox religion. Zelensky has recently arrested the leader of the Orthodox Russian church in Kiev.

4. The shelling and genocide of ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine by the Azov Battalion, and others. They seek to eliminate the Russian language and Russian culture from Ukraine, by killing people if necessary.

5. Ukraine's cutting the water supply off from the river to the Crimea. The Crimea is very dry and cannot exist without this water supply. The Crimea has been in Russian control since the 1700's, and the Russians have their Black Sea naval base there.

6. There are 26 Bio War Labs in Ukraine, started by the old Soviet Union, and now funded by the USA. Now that everyone knows that yes, "COVID came from the Wuhan Lab", these facilities are a serious threat to not only Russia, but the entire world.

Regardless of the Russian motives, we should not be involved in this war. Millions of people may die from this lunacy, just like they did with the US involvement in Vietnam and elsewhere.

The only good thing that may come out, is that BRICS is gaining speed from this war, which means the Dollar will no longer be the world's reserve currency, which means the bankers and our corrupt government would no longer be able to print money to pay for their war machine. The USA spends more money on weapons than the rest of the world, combined.

The war in Ukraine has pushed Russia to join with China, and they are, with all of their allies, manpower, and resources, stronger than the USA. I see that North Korea is back to firing missiles over Japan. The war in Ukraine is like the war in Poland in 1939, and it looks like we are entering WWIII.

We really need to pray for peace, and to tell others not to take sides in the Ukrainian war. This is not our war, but it is our world where our children have to live.

He knew they were armed when he said that. He had been warned about threats of violence. And he still decides to rile people up and send a mob - including people who are armed - to the Capitol.
So if they were armed, where did they ALL drop ALL their weapons as they ALL marched to the Capitol? This makes no sense. The logic does not track. NO weapons were used by the rioters at the Capitol.
Robert,

The only gun used that day was by Michael Byrd to kill Ashli Babbitt. No guns were used by Trump supporters. There is no history of that, this is a "more recent" fiction created by the Democrats.

The statement about Trump asking for the metal detectors to be removed so guns could be used inside the Capitol is ridiculous. On record, Trump officially asked Pelosi and the Mayor of DC to supply 20,000 National Guardsmen at the Capitol and elsewhere to maintain order, and they refused - as the National Guard would have interfered with the FBI and Antifa goons breaking windows at the Capitol. So, the same Trump who asked for 20,000 Guardsmen to be there was also asking for the metal detectors to be removed? They must think we have short memories.

Still no mention of who opened the magnetically locked Capitol doors from the inside. Or who told the police to step aside and let the protestors walk right in. No cross examination. No trial by jury. This bogus investigation can only go "one way", with a pre determined result.

Cassidy Hutchinson was not in the car with Trump, and her statements are "hearsay" and inadmissible in Court of Law. Ms. Hutchinson knows that she will never be indicted for perjury before this committee, so she is making her testimony up out of whole cloth. Only Republicans can commit perjury in DC and be convicted, not Democrats.

This is just like the ridiculous "Steele Dossier" the Democrats created that "proved" Trump's "Russian Collusion", where Trump was alleged to have gone to the same hotel room where the Obamas stayed in Moscow, and used Russian prostitutes to pee on the bed where the Obamas slept, which was videoed by the Russians and used as blackmail on Trump:
Dossier source(s) allege that Trump "hated" Obama so much that when he stayed in the Presidential suite of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow,[29][193] he employed "a number of prostitutes to perform a 'golden showers' (urination) show in front of him"[124][185][194] in order to defile the bed used by the Obamas on an earlier visit.
I can't make this up, read it yourself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steele_do ... llegations

So now Trump is grabbing the car wheel, just like he peed on a bed in Russia. Give me a break.

This is political theater, and designed to distract us from all of the failures of the Democratic party, namely:

1. Shutting off the gas and oil pipelines on their first day in office, which has led to $5.00 to $8.00 a gallon gas and higher, with no end in sight.
2. Chemical Fertilizer has to be made from natural gas that is carried in the pipelines which they have shut off, and so there is a lack of fertilizer now, which will result in a world wide famine starting this fall. (Stock up! Millions of people in Africa will die from this.)
3. Everything depends on energy that the Democrats have killed, and the higher gas prices are driving up inflation at record levels. Your money is not worth as much.
4. Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa - BRICS - are now using their own "basket currency" to buy and sell Russian oil. The Russian ruble is stronger than before the sanctions, based on their oil exports to countries outside the US embargo. Russian has defaulted on its debt to the US banks, because we are history. These actions can mean that the US Dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency in the near future. All of the dollars used overseas for international transactions will only be good for purchasing USA goods - for use by people overseas. If this happens, there will be shortages here with the nothing on the shelves, and there will be hyperinflation like Weimar Germany in the USA. All of this resulting from the Democrats' sanctions on Russia, which is hurting us and not the Russians.
5. Starting a war in Ukraine, when if the USA would have put pressure on Ukraine to keep the 2014 Minsk Agreements, which Ukraine, Russia, and the UN all agreed to keep - if Ukraine had kept their word on this, there would be no war in Ukraine now. Russia told Ukraine this at the beginning of their military operation, that they would leave if Ukraine would honor the Minsk Agreements. The Democrats have now aggravated this situation into a full blown war. (This war the Democrats created is also affecting the global food shortage.)
6. Funding the Bio Labs in Ukraine, and Wuhan. This is where the COVID viruses and other illnessed are created.
7. The debacle in Afghanistan, instead of some peaceful transfer of power, or some other solution.
8. Hunter Biden's laptop, with pictures of criminal activity which the FBI will never investigate.
9. Hunter Biden's watercolor "art". Buy one for half a million dollars and get your problems resolved. (The Bidens are so corrupt...)
10. Ashley Biden's Diary, that has entries about a father taking a shower with his underage daughter.
11. And of course, the 2020 Stolen Election, with hundreds of hours of eye witness testimony, videos of vans pulling up to Cobo Hall in Detroit delivering fake ballots, Poll watcher run out of the vote counting area, the list goes on...

But what do we think about instead? Cassidy Hutchinson. You would be better off ignoring everything the Jan 6th Committee does, and go out and plant a garden. Plant your entire front and back yards as one huge garden. You are going to need it.

Today the public can view the release of Fauci!s text message where he shared belief that COVID vaccine could cause miscarriages. These text messages were between two other doctors.

Afterwards instead of stating that warning- to the Smerican people he strongly recommended the vaccine for pregnant women.

When all this is coming to light, all the lies that are now exposed, I doubt at least the American people will trust leadership on the next pandemic.
