Much better to have a third baseman. Besides, rumor this morning has it that Cardinal Arenado is already prepping the organization to accept his change of roles.

In a surprising and emotional turn of events, Nolan Arenado has informed the Cardinals that he no longer wishes to continue as a Cardinal. The news has sent shockwaves through the world, leaving analysts stunned.
Wife: Did he switch to the Red Sox??? The Cardinals will miss their third baseman

For the purpose of interesting headlines, I think the cardinal Marx would be a good choice.

Cardinal Castro would be almost as interesting, at least in the western hemisphere.

Cardinal Francis wouldn't have to choose a new papal name to provide continuity, just add a roman numeral.

Cardinal Prevost would be uniquely equipped to coach his successors. He would probably get a nice new Popemobile.

i’m surprised Cardinal Sarah is a possibility. i don’t know of the others, i’ve favored C Sarah and C Burke.
i don’t think C Burke is well enough.

From the OP link:
Cardinal Robert Sarah
Sarah, 79, of Guinea, the retired head of the Vatican’s liturgy office, was long considered the best hope for an African pope.
Beloved by conservatives, Sarah would signal a return to the doctrinaire and liturgically minded papacies of John Paul II and Benedict.
Sarah, who had previously headed the Vatican’s charity office Cor Unum, clashed on several occasions with Pope Francis, none more seriously than when he and Pope Benedict co-authored a book advocating the “necessity” of continued celibacy for Latin Rite priests.
The book came out as Francis was weighing whether to allow married priests in the Amazon to address a priest shortage there.
i would be happy if C Sarah is Pope.

Sarah has good ideas interesting he being of african origin and opposes mass inmigration

In Mennonet, this is current events. If this was a Catholic forum, it would surely be Politics. :D

Wow. I’m surprised all y’all care about who’s going to be next as pope. How does it affect your denomination? A lot? A little? Somewhere in the middle?
It’s got less impact than a gnat's sneeze for us.

As I sit here and type on my PC, I can't help but think of how a new Pope could actually affect us to the max. Even as we try to be plain and be part of the universal church, the goings-on in Catholic World are quite important.

I declare myself safe from being chosen as the next Pope.
