6 killed at private Christian School in Nashville

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Truely sad. So much to be said, makes me sick to do so.

Regardless of all the speculation and politicization, three 9-year-old children and three adults are not coming home. Before making this a political issue, we need to remember that there are grieving families whose lives will never be the same again.

So true!!
I've seen the story come up on Facebook and it's so revealing that we've come to a point where our hearts have become so hard or used to these kinds of stories that we jump right into the politics and focus on that instead of the suffering.

"Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold " said Jesus regarding Last Days in Matthew 24:12.

Yet this issue is already being politicised by those who are in favour of outlawing guns. Strangely they are silent about other aspects of this story incident which seem far more relevant.

That's true. Rand Paul's staffer was knived in broad daylight yesterday! So the gun control does not get to the root of the problems with the one who is of the demonic realm which seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Pf course without spiritual insight carnal solutions won't solve

Yes. She was likely molested as a child to reject femininity and to pursue what she understood what masculinity was to protect herself. I’m not saying testosterone has no impact but ultimately she made a choice and it was freely made. She now has to face the consequences of her actions… there might be someone in her past though that will face consequences too.
I wonder if she also had autism or OCD… the rates of concurrence seem remarkable.

Our country should be focused on fixing mental health issues and personally I think insurance and cost is a big deal but if you go through so much education only to get little pay for so much investment… hey that sounds like teachers… one issue though is any improvement to mental health is likely going to be rejected by the conservatives for a number of reasons.

As for the killings, perhaps it’s heartless but I don’t know anyone connected with it, children are killed all the time and I would rather grieve over children dying in Africa or Ukraine were they lack even basic expectations of being safe in school.when it happens rarely, people get more emotionally involved, when it happens daily, the media starts to ignore it. I would hazard a guess if it wasn’t a Christian school, we hardly would have paid much attention to it.

They are ORGANIZED and funded with the public treasury, the FIRST response is prepared before the incident. The incidents are “incidental” to the established purpose. The formula is not complex. It requires simplicity in order to be far-reaching.

i’m serious when saying i pray conservatives remain UNorganized, never emulate organized libs. It’s a bad path.
It’s loss of humanity.

i’m not sure what Soloist means by conservatives rejecting science (?) - but, lib ideologues not only reject or are skeptical, they commandeer it to serve their end goals, it’s no longer science, at all. conservatives, all who are paying attention, are wise to question.

Rule of thumb:
When/where billions/trillions are involved, incompetence+corruption will be plentiful. It’s a matter of sorting details.

- - - - - - -

In Tennessee, near the same time as this school incident, 6 girls were killed in a motor vehicle collision.
Ernie has a thread questioning why car fatalities are fairly ignored, when there are so many?

Soloist also questions the logic/motivation of reporting. (organized, lib activists determine what’s reported, and how.)

These are valid questions.

t1,

The short answer is that much of the establishment relies on cheap fuels and motor transport because the alternative would be establishing safer, walkable cities, which they don’t want to do for the middle class and poorer folks. And they’d have to have a usable, workable rail system which would mean an end to massive corporate consolidation and big profits. So the establishment just leaves the status quo where it is.

I have posted elsewhere about the sharp rise in road fatalities. Interestingly my home state’s main legislative priorities right now is persecuting people who drive horse and buggy in the name of “safety” - never mind the person at fault in such accidents is the person driving a big, heavy automobile.

I will trust the establishment once their people stop being chauffeured around and flying private jets and instead walk, bicycle, use public transportation, or use animal power to get around. We could start with the President and work our way down from there.

I agree that caring for grieving families should come first. But I see no problem in seeing this as a motivation to create policies that reduce the number of mass shootings in the future. Most of us in favor of gun control are not wanting to outlaw all guns, just these rapid-fire large-capacity semi-automatic weapons.

Josh, what other things can we learn from this event that "seem far more relevant"? If the shooter had been taking testosterone that might be one, but I don't think that's a common factor in mass murder attempts.
