Just like church attendance in England and Wales, we notice that it is men who are leading this trend. A good sign.JohnL wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 10:32 am This is really encouraging and puts a spotlight on how we can reach out to the millenials and GenZs.

This gender thing to me, is the significant aspect. Migrant or not, it seems new to me to hear that males are increasing.

Esp when they are led by Jesus Christ.
Most cultures and religions are led by men. Jesus is best.
i’ll admit, i wasn’t so aware of the importance until after the loss of most of our family’s male leaders, one by one, grandfathers, father, father in law, uncles, brother, brother in law, husband, father .. i’m here to tell ya, it’s painful. God prepares us to do without .. but there is no replacement.
i have a close relatve who is quite taken with her own intelligence and power, leans into feminism, chooses women whenever possible (today, it seems ALWAYS possible). Criticizes men continually. She is probably the unhappiest person i’ve ever met. Constantly perplexed at her own unhappiness.
i quietly suggest she choose good males in her life. i give her some examples of my experience, starting in the workpace after high school. that’s decades. i’m not aware of change in her choices, of course. maybe one day.
one opinion is, i find males (in general) to be better managers and directors. less likely to micromanage.
a fav example was when i was hired+directed by a young father to care for an adopted 10 year old boy.
his directions to me: “your job is to make sure he doesn’t kill himself after school until i get home from work.”
me: “ok. fair enough.”
result: child+i had a great time doing everything together! pulling weeds, walking, playing catch, doing dishes, organizing laundry, playing games. i wasn’t asked to do any of those things. i told the child, do more than what’s expected. enjoy it.
this was a new concept for him. he was puzzled at first. i smiled. the father was so appreciative when he came home. it was nice.
sometimes the very nice mother would direct me: i can’t remember clearly. except a lot of micromanaging. we got along. the fun wasn’t what it was. no room left for resourcefulness and creativity. it became a job. i don’t recall being thanked.
as my relative describes her experiences with numbers of women she’s chosen in various roles, i sense a similar experience.
men+women are built differently. not always interchangable. there’s a difference between “it gets done” and “it gets done well.”
not my idea or design. or wish.
accept God’s will or reject it. just sayin.

in the bigger picture, i believe “the societal trend” was toward outright matriarchy, and it went too far.
for everyone’s good, i think and pray things are scaling back. academia’s social engineering experiments go too far.

My observation, in my community is that young people are more interested in the scripture and more ready to commit to church membership than I remember in the last 25 years. I started noticing a shift about 6 years ago.JohnL wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 10:32 am This is really encouraging and puts a spotlight on how we can reach out to the millenials and GenZs.

Well, according to the article they just closed the gender gap with women who were already ahead. So men have now finally caught up with women.

I’m speculating that the push of homosexuality and transgender ideology has a number of young people examining those Bibles too.barnhart wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 8:00 pmMy observation, in my community is that young people are more interested in the scripture and more ready to commit to church membership than I remember in the last 25 years. Re: Bible use reverses downward trend-surprising demographic
There's a reason the Lord created us so different: men and women aren't designed to compete and take on each other's roles. We complement each other, not just as a couple and in marriage, but in all aspects of life. The feminine and the masculine have their own nature.R7ehr wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 2:36 pm
