I would be quite comfortable with Enoch in the canon, considering Jude quotes it as established fact and Jesus indirectly references it. I also think the testimony and witness of the Ethiopian Tewahedo church gives credibility for it to be in the canon.

I agree.
And really, the biggest problem for Christians is not what we do not know, but the things we do know and are not fully living out. It's easy to get lost in all the speculation.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Also keep in mind we Christians have been at our worst when clarifying things left unclear in the scripture.

You can choose to be ignorant and let unbelievers occupy that space or educate yourself from a scriptural and ancient near eastern perspective and be ready to have biblical answers to questions about supernatural phenomena.

This is a real irony for me.
As Mennonites, we emphasize the need to obey what is clear in Scripture, as seen in what Jesus did and said. Living it out today as the Kingdom of God. But on MennoNet, that's really a vanishingly small percent of what we discuss. It's not what we wrestle with here together.

An internet forum populated mostly by people I don't know is not where I would go to discuss the important things of life.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 11:17 amThis is a real irony for me.

Same here. I use MN for a broader perspective on ideas I'm thinking about but I don't take it very seriously.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 11:40 amAn internet forum populated mostly by people I don't know is not where I would go to discuss the important things of life.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 11:17 amThis is a real irony for me.

Most of the things really important to discuss don’t come up on an Internet forum.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 11:17 amThis is a real irony for me.

When I do bring them up, there is little participation.
