Interesting conversation with some good points. I was somewhat turned off with the beginning conversation…two men discussing breast feeding..really !!! Then a subtle shaming of women who don’t. There are thousands of women who simply do not have adequate milk to nourish a healthy growing baby and formula is a life saver.
Also Amish do not quit school at 6th grade, but attend school until they are age 14. If they complete 8th grade and they have not reached age 14, they attend school three hours a week, keeping a detailed diary. That time is recognized as vocational education.

There is a lot I could say, as a lifetime educator, about this topic and about homeschooling. However, I think, this is one conversation I'll sit out. =)

I’m enjoying these. Been almost 20 years ago when I used spend evenings with Milioni, his legs crossed pottery coffee cup in hand.
