MN email SPAM?

Yesterday ..
i received an authentic-looking email from an MN friend .. it was brief, with a misspelled word, asking about Amazon.
it encouraged urgency. misspelled words can be SPAM flags, or innocent typos.
i did not reply. SPAM can be tricky.
i PM’d the person, no response yet. (not unusual) ..
Wondering if others have experienced this, now or ever?
i do very little off public forum, few PMs or emails. i would describe this email as “rare.”
it appears authentic! even with a picture of the MN member. if it’s SPAM, it’s disturbingly realistic.
Anyone?
