I am sorta surprised this is interesting to you guys. The de icing they are referring to is known as Glycol Type 1, which is the liquid you spray to remove ice, and Glycol Type IV which is the “gloop” you put on the wings and lays there to prevent more icing
Sad to sad to say I have read more NTSB reports than I have ever wanted to.
I did meet Sully twice!

Very interesting guy.
A lot of folks do not realize he rejected ATC advice to land at TEB. His decision was correct. I fear fewer and fewer pilots are experienced and confident enough to make the good decision Sully did on that day
i’m no more “you guys” than you ..

but, ok.
There are pilots among us on forum, and some serious world travelers.
i’m an amateur hack, i’ve listened viewed lots of pilot-ATC videos, some NTSB reports, etc., an eclectic mix, at best.
my son is a mechanical engineer, has always been interested in aviation, he worked at Boeing (for 7 years, i think) on the 787s.
then worked for an aviation contractor for several years.
we talk about things. he’s quiet and reserved, he puts up with me.
i’ve watched several videos on Sully, his blackbox recorded voice is etched in my brain. including the part where he told ATC they wouldn’t make it to TEB. the training, focus, self-control these men have confounds me.
it would be very hard to match Sully’s experience. he had a good first officer, too. and crew.
what a day for them.
hoping you’ll add more here.
