i stumbled on this former topic, it wasn’t a busy topic, the tone was much different. not political. not accusatory.
i don’t detect any reference to eugenics, nazis, etc. (nor have i elsewhere.)

what a difference politics makes! turn MSNBC, et al., loose, watch what happens.

(not to discount the OP focus on the sanctity of marriage+families, from a Christian view; i also believe traditional families are close to universal.) God created all of mankind.

in Western civilization, i believe the onset of cheap-free birth control pills, and gov sanctioned, promoted+funded abortion, have caused havoc in God’s plan for (chastity) and marriage+families.

i’ve read, PP was about to die a natural death (lack of interest) when government funding stepped in.
That’s often what gov does. It funds the otherwise unsustainable.

BC pills were originally (and scandously) intended for use by married couples, only. By doctor’s prescription, paid out of pocket.
Few had any description health insurance.

Those pills, AND WORSE (ex., abortion pills) are now freely supplied to the unmarried, including teens and children.
Huge market. Anything for a buck!! $$$$

i pray for miracles. including for Eelon Musk, his children, their mothers. very important.

It’s not mentioned much anywhere. That might threaten the cash flow.

My perception is she was a flaming racist, worse, PP activities, i.e., esp their “clinic” locations seem to support that foundation.

This has happened pretty much in my lifetime. i was young, but remember life before BC pills and normalization of abortion.
i actually remember that world. Traditional marriage was normal, even for atheists, divorce was unsettling and uncommon.

For everything i’ve seen, i’m glad i get to see this part, now. i sometimes feel like Forrest Gump.

Of course no one would endorse Sanger, and I can't think of anyone that would endorse her program of eugenics. However, the practice that is occurring here is far worse than anything Sanger proposed. Just because people will not state the obvious (Sanger was bad) does not mean that they are endorsing anything she said.

For those who do not know history, birth control, Long predate Sanger, and Long predates the development of oral contraceptives. She just helped widen the distribution, which would've happened anyway. People do what they want to do, and unregenerate people do what unregenerate people do..

i know, when bc pills were first available, they were for married couples, by prescription, paid out of pocket.
i remember the shock of it then (thru my mother and aunts). it was soooo new. people were unsure.

i believe, if those folks had any idea that these pills (and much more) would soon be available to the unmarried, teens, and children, they might have banned the whole thing. i cannot overstate how shocking the idea of bc was to everyday people. they were very unsure, even strictly for use by married women. at will abortion??!! are you kidding me??!!

Looks like an ambiguous choice of words. I think you mean that the government interferes by legalizing, etc. But it could be read as other parties funding, promoting, etc. and the government interferes with that, in which context legalizing doesn't really fit since only government can do that.
