At the very least you’ll be able to see that the fans are installed properly if they’re detected and you can turn them on and off the make sure they work. Then if you want you can get into the weeds and set custom fan speeds by temperature if you want.

45° sounds fine to me, especially if that’s under full workload. I’m guessing that the default fan settings are probably set to not come on at that temperature, especially since one of the reasons for liquid cooling to to cut fan noise.
Thanks for your response.

The 45* C was at idle speed, but I discovered that I had not connected the power cables to the Graphics card fans. DUH! My *excuse* is that I started this build way back in January, with water cooling being a totally new thing for me. So I had installed the CPU cooler (also water cooled) long ago, then waited for the 5080 GPU to come available.

It was first projected for release Jan 21st, then it actually happened on Jan 30th, but all of those were grabbed up by people with some sort of inside track. I've read that Bitcoin 'mining' created a heavy demand for these cards. I had one opportunity to purchase directly from the manufacturer - MSI, but I suppose because Berlin Ohio is an unincorporated village, our address is not accepted by some companies. (I've run into this before, but it's worse with MSI, I think because I couldn't enter a delivery address different than the address for the credit card. I just kept getting the error message that the payment method was rejected, as if the card was bad, blocked, or the information was entered incorrectly. I tried a different card as well, but nothing worked.)

Finally my client (Amish-owned company) went on-line with an employee's laptop, and purchased it himself. At a significantly higher cost, but at least he got it. So by the time I installed the graphics card, I was really 'cold' on what all I needed to do. The power cables for the fans run off of SATA cables (not Molex), so I didn't realize I had missed that step. I am experiencing memory issues anyway, so the months of delay between when I started the build until I was able to complete it took their toll.
