Re: COVID-19: Silver Linings?
I've heard from friends who live in China that for Chinese believers, there have been more opportunities to share the love of God by serving, and more opportunities for online Bible studies. At least one Chinese sister they know, who was unable to find a group of believers to meet with, was able to ...

What are your thoughts on re-baptism?
I was baptized into the family of God when I was 17, on the confession of my faith. I didn't do it because all my friends were doing it (I was the only one), I didn't do it to join the church so I could start dating (I wasn't baptized "into" a church), I asked to be baptized because I had ...

Re: What drew you to your local church?
Family is important, of course. If you could choose a church, what would it look like? What do you mean by "worship freely", have you been in church settings where that happened for you? I appreciate that question. I've often wished I could try attending somewhere else, but since I've nev...

Re: What drew you to your local church?
I used to listen to Alistair Begg a lot when I worked in my dad's shop. I really appreciate his humility. And his accent. :D My husband and I attend both of our families' churches. And that's the only reason. Family. I would love to have the opportunity to choose a church to attend; a place where I ...

Re: Qualities to look for when ordaining?
The only one I voted for was for marriage and family stability. It's the only one that's Biblical, and is one that is often overlooked in nominations, imo.

Re: Mental Health Awareness & the Conservative Church(s)
Why do you say that? There is no proof that 80% of depression is caused by insufficient dietary omega-3’s. Exercise possibly, I could see a number of ways that could help. Fish oil, I would rate that as one of the most ridiculous cures for depression I have come across. I can’t even begin to compre...

Re: Mental Health Awareness & the Conservative Church(s)
Advice from a Pharmacist: 80 % of all depression is caused by a lack of omega 3 fatty acids in the diet. Take high quality fish oil daily. This is not sound medical or psychiatric advice. Obviously, the pharmacist probably doesn't have data to back up the actual number, but I'm curious as to why yo...

I agree.I Timothy wrote:

Re: What does "plain" mean to you?
I have had limited contact with Old Order Amish folks, but Ken 's description sounds like a stereotype to me. I think the OO Amish are mostly hard-pressed to find places with acreage; "big estates" is probably an exaggeration which applies to only a few. I grew up in an Amish community, a...

Re: POLL: Age of MennoNet Users
I was one of those teenagers on MD.
Hans invited me to check it out via xanga and I felt pretty grown-up joining my first ever forum.
I left for a decade, but I'm back....under a different name.
