Re: Voting in elections, grocery store fires, plain Catholics... and a poll!

I don’t believe in adding things to my hotdog. If sauerkraut is available I will add it to my hot dog otherwise a burnt hot dog with nothing on it on hot dog bun is the best. And I usually just eat them plain. Don't add cheese or lettuce- just a plain fairly black hot dog- kosher is best of course....

Re: Miller Farms fined

And again I am saying that is what I heard from conservative friends as to why they didn't get vaccines. I am making no judgements. First they talked about autism but then they spoke about the fetal cell line. I was just explaining how I saw it in conservative circles and why. My goodness- you can't...

Re: Miller Farms fined

Actually anti vaccination has been a huge thing among conservative folks first due to autism- had quite a few I knew who believed this. Then when this was disproven they moved on to vaccines having fetal cell lines. And all those I knew who were opposed to vaccinations are very conservative folks. L...

Re: Temporary Separation from Spouse

I have no problem with a church saying they prefer or don't allow men to work in occupations that take them away from the home- that is their choice and if you join that church you agree to that. But to say that is not anabaptist is going too far- it may be a position many anabaptist churches take- ...

Re: Temporary Separation from Spouse

My original point was if someone has an occupation that takes them away from family from time to time- the church can be part of the support for the wife and children during that time. Josh then said "The idea we should “support” people doing whatever they want is a distinctly non-Anabaptist do...

Re: Temporary Separation from Spouse

No but I felt it was implied that the church could discern what occupation was acceptable by the below quote: by saying we support people in doing whatever they want. I never said whatever occupation a person wanted but it seems if the church doesn't like it that is ok- and there are churches that w...

Re: Temporary Separation from Spouse

No one said do whatever they want. Many occupations are not such and I'm sorry - I don't get the anabaptist part about not judging and about being the ones to discern what a persons occupation should be. So an engineer, an architect, an accountant, and so many other occupations are not acceptable? S...

Re: Temporary Separation from Spouse

Every case is different and what works for one family may not for another. Support for the family- as in grandparents or aunts and uncles helps a great deal too and these days face time or the equivalent make a huge difference. My son has to be away about 2 or 3 times a year for 3-6 weeks. We are cl...
