Re: Peacemaking after the Election
In Maine we already had a law requiring coverage for pre-existing conditions (for which I'm thankful), and insurance was still affordable until the "affordable care act". Wayne do you remember if coverage for pre-existing conditions was subsidized in any way by the state? Did the plans co...

Re: Peacemaking after the Election
In Maine we already had a law requiring coverage for pre-existing conditions (for which I'm thankful), and insurance was still affordable until the "affordable care act". A lot of the "affordable care act" was patterned after Maine's law, which was created by Republicans. The tw...

Re: Conservative Anabaptists and Birth Control
It seems for a kingdom believer our blessings are not measured in earthly riches (including big families), but in treasures store up in heaven. God's heart seems to be most aligned with the orphan, the widow, the poor. Comparatively, those with wealth he issued strong warnings to, particularly in t...

Re: Poll: Daylight Saving Time
None of the above. I prefer Local Solar Time, which in my town is 19 minutes ahead of Standard time. All jest aside, I used to set my watch to Local Solar Time (noon is when the sun is at its zenith) when I would go backpacking. It gave me a better sense of how many hours of daylight I had available...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?
I agree with you. I think a lot of it gets pushed by "rapture ready" Christians looking for some validity of impending judgement and wrath. Rapture? Did someone say rapture? That should flush George out of hiding! Unfortunately, I hear that kind of thinking all the time at the church we a...

Re: Where Did They Go?
Of interest in comparing Old Order Amish to conservative Anabaptists is not birth rates, but how many young people join the church. Despite being made to wait until adulthood and heavier requirements after living a worldly life in late teens, more OOA choose to join than do CA young people. I would...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?
1. Are you voting, why or why not? Not voting. Not my kingdom. 2. What do you think will be the outcome, ie, who is going to win? I suspect at this point that Trump will win. The trajectory of the recent developments in the Clinton email investigation does not look good for her. She may regret chal...
