Re: HPV and Cancer link

Finally with every risk, one has to do a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether the costs outweigh the benefits. I'm not sure why you feel compelled to argue so vociferously against people whose life circumstances and worldview produce different results from their analysis. That's another analy...

Re: Do important people still sign checks?

Re: Archaeologists need to quit being so quick to…

i expect some members have seen/visited at least some of these places/artifacts. The compiler of the slideshow obviously has not. Some of the images do not correspond to the text: that's not the Tel Dan stele, Tyre, the Western Wall in Jerusalem, or Capernaum. At least one of them is not even in th...

Re: NFL “values”

What is the thrill attached to jumping on band wagons - to the exclusion of a moment’s considered thought? The race to the bottom. Alternatively, one can watch for bandwagons that other people are jumping on and off of, and supply us with knee-jerk dogmatic responses to that activity. Is that more ...

Re: MennoNet and Genealogy

Wife: Speaking of genealogies and language similarities, I found out that the meaning of an ancestor’s maiden name was “grasping innkeeper”. Oy. This is not genealogically related, and doesn't give anything away, but my favorite fictional innkeeper name is Barliman Butterbur of Bree, proprie...

Let's try tot to induce a heart attack on the mods 8-) Thanks for thinking of us, I guess, though it seems a bit childish. I'll totes put a cardiologist on speed dial. In this thread , the consensus seemed to be that BMA was the dividing line between "conservatives" and "liberals.&qu...
