Re: The Trinity
Which is worse, Arianism "heresy", or Constantine merging the church and state and waging war to expand his earthly kingdom? I can't really see what's majorly wrong with Arianism or why any of should even care. Jesus is the Son of God, and 1 Corinthians 11 describes the headship order of G...

Re: Credible News Sources: The Russian Hacking Story
It's amusing to see leftists suddenly try to wear the anti-KGB mantle, after their shenanigans like being endless apologists for Castro or opposing the operation in Grenada. Huh? Re: Should Mennonites be worrying about some of these questions?
Chris, your part 1 ignored that many sexual assaults happen from someone related to the victim - and frankly happen far too often in our circles. We need to get serious about dealing with people with deviant urges instead of just sweeping it under the rug or thinking we should trust someone 100% bec...

Re: Should Mennonites be worrying about some of these questions?
Once we love our own lives more than following Jesus, we will fall prey to thinking violence is OK.
We are a very family oriented people, despite Jesus warning us not to be. So the most common way we trick ourselves into violence is telling ourselves we would kill "for our family".

Re: Using Scripture's terms and phrases
But when our heart is right, will not our actions show that somewhat? I think this is something to be cautious of - because then we will start to justify our actions as somewhat more righteous than others. I don't think it's scriptural to judge people who say "kids" as less spiritual or h...

Re: Using Scripture's terms and phrases
How, exactly, does refusing to use the word "kids" build Jesus' kingdom?
Where does the Bible tell us what English words to use? The New Testament is written in Koine Greek, which is was vernacular. It was not written in the respectable, literary language of the time.

What is the utility of thanking in public for PMs, other than to make some of us feel left out?
