Re: Alex Jones...
Ken, You have made it clear you think politics is a good pursuit and the right way to reform society. Conservative Anabaptists don’t. We will be in conflict about this forever, because when talking about any social ill, you see the solution as political manoeuvrings. We see the solution as souls sub...

I would prefer to instead see pressure to turn such topics into discussion from an Anabaptist point of view. Can you give some examples of what this would look like? i am going to add to this comment, but i still want to see josh's answer, and i'm guessing ernie also wants to see josh's answer. i'm...

Re: Alex Jones...
However, lots of topics aren’t political - such as discussing minimum wage, cost of housing and so on - yet there is a constant pressure from the liberal-progressive wing to turn every such topic political. I would prefer to instead see pressure to turn such topics into discussion from an Anabaptis...

Boot,
With respect, you are not the right person, in my opinion, to try to bring up making things less politicised, nor are you the right person to be some referee to decide whose “fault” it is.
I would suggest that if this is important to you, that you demonstrate it by example.

Re: Where can you afford a home on your income?
Here's a more useful map for data geeks. You can see not only the price of housing, but economic opportunity and many other factors. By state or by zip code. https://opportunityindex.org/ Nebraska sure looks inviting ... This is a rather bogus listing. For example: Access To Banking Services Number...

Re: Where can you afford a home on your income?
Someone who is earning $150,000 a month and who has a family will not be paying that much in taxes. By my calculations, someone earning that in CA with 2 kids and a wife who doesn’t work will be paying 47.7% in taxes (not including employer’s half of oasdi/medicaid/unemployment). On the flip side, ...

Re: David French: The Day My Church Cancelled Me
The Nashville PCA church isn’t politically conservative. However, they do tend to try to avoid political controversies and have a reputation for that since they have a variety of political viewpoints represented there. (Many other PCA churches don’t like the Nashville church because they consider it...

Re: Alex Jones...
It seems the liberals here want to constantly discuss politics and Trump. I agree. But I think the conservatives on MN also want to constantly discuss politics. But they prefer discussing Biden and liberals. I just wish they could confine it all to the politics forum. I think both groups should con...

the forum will reflect what members are interested in. i agree Or rather, it reflects what a small number prolifically post about. I made a decision a while ago that there are enough non-liberals who stay silent whilst progressive liberals dominate the conservation. But they still get to decide wha...

Re: Where can you afford a home on your income?
Ken, Did you embrace repealing income and social security taxes? By my calculations, someone in California or New York who earns $150,000 in wages and spends half of that on housing will have $25,000 to live on, which doesn’t seem very doable. So about $2,100 a month to cover food, transportation a...
