Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

This man you speak of... would he have been EPMC at one time? Yes, Wilmer was an EMPC minister If this is who I think it is, I visited his congregation and had dinner with him. Can't think what congregation he was part of but it was northern Lebanon County or Berks maybe. I've lost touch with those...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

Interesting. I believe City Light would be Charity, right? I guess some would call us "Charity" City Light is an independent group started by several families who left the Washington Co group. Wilmer Martin from Lehman St, Lebanon PA assisted them in getting started. City Light has never ...

Re: Pilgrim Mennonite Conference current events

As an aside, I find it really annoying how plain people refer to a “Junior” as if we’re all supposed to know who that is. I have literally been asked, “Do you know Junior?” Junior who? I probably know 50 “Juniors”. Ivan Martin Jr who was ordained bishop shortly after Pilgrim started I just got off ...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

We have a variety of folks here that like to think through things and I hope this subject can be discussed in a mature manner and not get political more than it has to be. I was recently made aware of most likely the biggest drug problem we have in American in Kensington Philidelphia, which is clos...

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises

LMC and W/F long ago negotiated some deal they wouldn’t intrude on each other’s “turf”. I was not aware of this. W/F congregations were originally under LMC until a new regional conference was formed as more people moved west. As I understand it, since Eastern considered themselves the true success...

Re: Pilgrim Mennonite Conference current events

I'm curious what people see as the pros and cons of a larger versus smaller conference. Also it seems to me that the more relevant metric is total number of members in the conference, rather than total number of churches. An ordained man from the "Southern District" of Pilgrim told me he ...

Re: Pilgrim Mennonite Conference current events

I heard the other day that Pilgrim Mennonite Conference may soon be disintegrating into several different groups and that their next annual conference will be their last one. Does anyone know whether this is in fact the case? It was decided at some point that the conference would be divided when th...
