Re: Ephesians 5: "Shameful even to speak"
I am late to this conversation. Of course Paul says it is a shame to speak of the things people do in secret. But he also exposes those very things in several places in his letters. His point, as far as I can tell, is that certain sins are such an affront against nature and the Creator that it makes...

Re: Anabaptist woman flees colony
This is about Hutterite woman. Not about a woman being beaten to death. The hypothetical distorts the basis of the scripture itself to give rationale to a woman leaving. She could have stayed with her husband as the Bible commands. The beaten point is just fancy demagoging to ameliorate the unbridl...

Re: Anabaptist woman flees colony
Being fancy, you literally just argued AGAINST the scripture. I have yet to see Scripture that tells a woman to stay with a husband who abuses her. It is a perversion of the Word that would have such a thing. This is about Hutterite woman. Not about a woman being beaten to death. The hypothetical d...

Please explain 1 Peter 3:1-6 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. The scripture itself states for her to be submissive a...

Re: Salvation without the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle?
I believe God judges us according to our understanding. But this is not a purely passive thing for Him, a He is constantly working through the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. We can be children in understanding. There is room for growth and revelation of just what His words mean on various s...

Re: Faith healing, communion and foot washing
I don't think it matters whether or not there is protection. Both communion and the washing of feet are demonstrations of love and care within the Christian community. And love is worth the risks that are involved in displaying it.
