Re: Detecting the next pandemic
I did pretty much all the things with the Covid pandemic. Social distanced to a certain extent, wore masks where absolutely required, suspended church services, made my employees wear masks and requested from customers, got Covid, my dad got covid, had friends who got it, I got the Moderna shot and...

Re: Detecting the next pandemic
In the Fauci thread, I mentioned that Congress does have an important oversight role for the labs that track new diseases that might cause pandemics. If the first number of responses to the OP are any indication (and I suspect they are), unfortunately, at the moment it feels like much of the world ...

Re: DjT
Behold - the words of the prophet from a decade ago: "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK? It's, like, incredible." Truer words have never been spoken...for the faithful, it seems like there is nothing left to be seen that hasn...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
The price of gas seems like an overblown measure of things most of the time. Politicians love to make hay with it. We pay about $3.50 a gal these days, up about $.80 since the war - an annoyance, but certainly not a hardship. The hardship is being felt by those in the war zone, including the 3,000+ ...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Dan Z, with respect, I have often put quite a bit of effort into substantive posts that are either ignored, or else picked apart with pithy responses. (You are welcome to peruse my post history to find them.) I know you have John. That's why I often read what you have to say. I think we need your p...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Actually my prediction was a draft is unlikely but if Anabaptists are locked up for reasons of conviction, it will be at the hands of people who openly claim the name of Jesus. And that's a pretty silly prediction. The overall trend in America is not towards more Christianity, but less. Secular gov...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
It’s because they’re evil and our violence is righteous. The myth of redemptive violence is very strong. Of all the false religions in the world, this one may be the deadliest and most pervasive. Here is the prayer our Secretary of War Pete Hegseth led at yesterday's Pentagon prayer service. He rep...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
I expect some sort of ground invasion of Iran by the US before too long. There are only so many options, stand back a watch it burn, get in and get dirty or persuade a weaker ally to get in and get dirty. The last several years didn't look to me like an exercise in building alliances, so the last o...

Oh Robert, my heart is heavy to hear about your loss. As parents we give our hearts into the lives of our children. May God‘s comfort weave into your life as you mourn the loss of your dear son.

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
I assume that much of the objection to the war is political in nature, and would be different if the other party were in power. The opposition always has its job to do. It looks political, but I think it is deeper than that - I think it is based on trust. Those who still have trust in President Tru...
