Re: Amish/Mennonite Benefit Dinners & Auctions

US, that seems like a rationalisation. When I see people bidding 10X what an item is worth, they are simply making the amount of their donation publicly known. It seems to be the exact opposite of what we should be doing. One downside of course is that this is actually not technically a donation an...

Re: Amish/Mennonite Benefit Dinners & Auctions

Yeah the auctioneers rarely get paid at these kind of events in Anabaptist circles. But in the larger non-profit world it is customary for the auctioneer to get paid much like any other professional working the event such as caterers, musicians, etc.

Re: Amish/Mennonite Benefit Dinners & Auctions

As I mentioned earlier, I am fine with a fundraiser or auction that fosters community involvement as long as it does not militate against Jesus's teachings. not to mention a little good natured competition that can really make it successful. I don't doubt that this results in a more financially suc...

Re: Amish/Mennonite Benefit Dinners & Auctions

Now I am a professional auctioneer that provides fundraising services to non-profits and organizations and I sit on committees/boards for Mennonite/Ana...

Here is a little video clip of me selling some livestock for a 4H/FFA program. My daughter Lanette is working the ring.

Re: Auctions

Thanks for the mention T1. Indeed it was 10 years ago last month that I graduated from auction school. I have been quite busy since. I do about 50 auctions per year selling real estate, machinery and equipment, and some other stuff. We do mostly online only auctions. Here is a link to the auctions I...

Re: Buying Cars

The top sites used by the highest number of new and used car dealers are www.autotrader.com and www.cargurus.com
Other notable sites with slightly less users are cars.com, carfax.com, and kbb.com

Usually a dealership will use at least one of those four and sometimes more than one.
