Re: Ordaining women to offices of minister, bishop, elder, pastor, etc.

I think our church actually ordained the coue, not just the man. I'm almost certain I made a post here about it one time, soon after an ordination when my memory of the facts would have been clear. Now I can't find it.

Re: Dealing with Infractions - Lancaster Conference

The church I grew up in was basically a Canadian version of Eastern. We were well acquainted with predominant Eastern leaders, as they frequently came to our area. Public confessions of misdemeanors were not unusual. I once was caught for violating the church's position on watching movies. I was ask...

In other words, Isaac Sensenig was going to write a "confession" for you Dad to give, that wasn't really a "confession". To me that sounds deceptive and underhanded.
I can't imagine those words being used in conjunction with that name.

Re: Opinions about the chickenpox, measles, and rubella vaccines

We do the ones required by our state to go to school. We space them out pretty far. We don’t bother with any that are not required. In our state, private Christian schools are subject to the vaccines schedules and required reporting of the medical records as are public schools. The local county hea...

Re: Amish/Mennonite Benefit Dinners & Auctions

Fundraisers for regular operations of a private school have always bothered me. It feels like asking the public to help support your private school, which you have freely elected to be a part of, while the public already supports public schools with their tax dollars. It feels like saying, "Ev...

Buy it, read it. If you hate it, pass it on. I believe Edwards writings, as almost every book, has meat to be digested and bones to be spit out.

Re: The *official* thread of The Big One of 2026... Snow!

Storm was overrated. Much less severe here than previous days. But an hour and a half away it was a different story. Toronto Pearson Airport has some interesting snow removal videos out. I'm ready for spring. It's been a winter wonderland since early December here. Pretty sketchy driving conditions ...

Feels like we've had the big one here in Southern Ontario since early December! I keep checking up on my short friends,'cause I don't want them to get lost in this deep snow.
