Re: The Reformed Churches Promoting...

The novelty of the ESV position as promoted by Wallace, Packer, Grudem, Winter, etc doesn't seem to be supported by Tertullian as far as I could tell, but maybe you read something different than that? JohnH covered it. I was saying the position is not novel, Tertullian wrote opposing it. I'm not fa...

Re: The Reformed Churches Promoting...

Note in these churches, headcovering is for MARRIED women only, for the most part. Reflects the distorted translation of the ESV of 1 Cor 11. Reformed in the Netherlands and Scotland have practiced headcovering in the conservative breakaways from the main state churches. I suppose you're aware that...

And, if you are of a cynical bent, perhaps who committed the infraction.

Re: Menfolk: Your church's standards on facial hair?

One of the nice things about the forum reboot awhile back is that you can go back and like your own posts. Gave you another one. Isn't it fascinating to consider that, in some of the more conservative groups such as the one yours came from, those who are most strongly against allowing men t...

Re: More on Liberty Ridge

If that sounded like cheering you should see me when I'm excited. I think I can advocate for working within the legal framework God has allowed and at the same time point out the stupidity of "cowboying into" something a person doesn't understand, without condoning, let alone enthusiastica...

Re: More on Liberty Ridge

I was raised around hippies and personally lean libertarian. I think the income tax should not have been passed, that the New Deal was an egregious enslavement of Americans, and that government has been inverted, with the broad base of local power that should be present instead taken over by or give...

See the last section on volunteers. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-s ... on-profits This is all simple enough stuff that legal counsel could have advised on.

Re: The most conservative Anabaptist group you are aware of?

Having spent some face-to-face time with some of the people he writes about in the paper, I just think he has some things wrong. that's all I will say on a public forum. It's nothing particularly bad. Generally, I think the paper is a little bit romantic about the PCM. Overall, it's still the best ...

A lot of the information is out of date, and he's just plain wrong about a few things, but generally it's a good overview of some of the most conservative groups that exist.
Which things is he just plain wrong about?
