Re: In the Name of “Mission Work” book about CAM/Mast
As is typical in any scandal of this magnitude, feelings and emotions run high opening the door for confusion and ongoing destruction. A key element of healing for victims of abuse and whistleblowers is telling their story, yet when they have done this, they have been met with control, manipulation ...

Re: In the Name of “Mission Work” book about CAM/Mast
Someone in the thread asked if I know Ernie. As he disclosed in an earlier thread, Ernie played a counseling role in my life nearly 18 years ago. I honor Ernie for this and have many, many times referred to him as having "saved my life.” Ernie is a good man and I have no intension of assassinat...

Re: In the Name of “Mission Work” book about CAM/Mast
Some wise words of wisdom for us to consider from Diane Langberg. “Both systems and individuals can be perpetrators. An allegation of sexual abuse threatens the system. Unfortunately, that system often marshals its considerable power to silence, lie, and cover-up or protect the perpetrator so that t...

Re: In the Name of “Mission Work” book about CAM/Mast
I don't know of anyone at CAM (or any of those who CAM terminated) who justifies the atrocities that happened in Haiti under CAM's watch. I haven't read the book yet, but I expect that all the bad things that are mentioned in the book, I would agree with as being bad. Regardless of whether or not t...

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle
Find attached a legal opinion on the document to which I was incorrectly referring to as an NDA. The proper term for this document is a discontinuance. As the legal counsel noted, the discontinuance does contain an NDA clause within it. The victims interpretation of being "silenced" by the...

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle
Yes. I am aware of several lawsuits, one of which CAM has mentioned on their website. As a CA I could not conscientiously enter into a lawsuit, nor would I conscientiously stand in the way of a victim obtaining legal counsel given the situation on the ground in Haiti with CAM having brought in their...

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle
Josh, Perhaps out of the norm, but here's one organization's attempt at do so (Restitution Plan and Organizational Reform section). In this case they, they hired Rachel Denhollander to serve as a "Confidential liaison with survivors and to help guide the process of care, justice, and restitutio...

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle
There are those who have borne a cost, especially in Haiti(I personally have not). I would argue that the "paydays" in Haiti should have/should come to complete stop. Given the fact that CAM has retained legal counsel in Haiti and the US, no victim in Haiti should ever be approached by CAM...
