Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?
In regards to your own personal standards and applications, what is liberal/progressive in your opinion? What is conservative in your opinion? My wife wears a headcovering. I don't wear shorts outside the house, maybe if I started doing 5K's again. We don't have *real* TV, but we can livestream and...

Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past
Sometimes it's hard for young conservative men to distinguish the difference between sexual attraction and the Holy Spirit. Just read this thread from my last post and want to comment on this one. I believe when the scripture says the Holy Spirit will lead us in the way that we should go, that this...

Re: Revival Meetings in Evangelical/Mainline Anabaptist
Wow, has this thread moved off the original post. Starting with the last couple posts on page 1 and several toward the end of page 3, which seem to bear little relationship to the OP. Other than that it's been more on topic than usual for this type of thread, with a bit of digression beginnin...

Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?
Could you (or someone else) elaborate on what is meant by "Kingdom Theology"? It seems surprising to me that 95% of an anabaptist organization can be influenced by what I would think of as "Kingdom Theology", seeing as how central it is to the gospel. Are they fully giving thems...

Re: Marrying Someone With a Promiscuous Past
I like a simple approach such as seek the Lord's guidance as that is what He sent us the Holy Spirit for. I believe I would have avoided much suffering regarding marriages if I had just trusted that the Spirit is given us to lead us in the way that we should go and sought His guidance. And how is t...

Re: Revival Meetings in Evangelical/Mainline Anabaptist
Seems to me there is a difference in what conversion means when talking about those who are raised in a Christian home compared to those who are converted from a non-Christian home. Those like myself, raised in a Christian home, might regard becoming a Christian as an on-going process and do not hav...

Re: Revival Meetings in Evangelical/Mainline Anabaptist
In a previous post I wrote - When I spent some years in a Mennonite Brethren church, I recall there were courses given at times for those who were keen on evangelism which taught people methods of reaching others with the Gospel in their daily lives outside the church. Courses such as 'Alpha' by Ni...
