A place for POEM'S or other inspirations

Post by Wade »

The scripture tells us to submit to our spouse
There is only one way in obedience to have a happy house
How a wife can blossom when she is loved
Husband be gentle or she will close off and feel like she's being shoved
How a husband when supported can be so liberating
Wife help him all you can or nothing to him will feel more debilitating
We were created with different roles to play
But when we submit to God through Christ our marriages will be at peace today

Wade, could you describe a bit more about what you're thinking of for this thread?
or add examples? :)

with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

I was hoping that others could share positive poem's or quotes or other inspirations to brighten other's day. Maybe something one has been pondering or God has laid on their heart. I'm no poet but wanted to express things on my heart with the first post. Was hoping any negative comments could be avoided.
Here is another one from a bit ago:
Even if I could talk with expert eloquence, even well enough to impress angels. Oh, if my theology and doctrine were invincible so that I could prophecy and teach with all knowledge. To have a faith bigger than a mustard seed that is unquestionably true. Always looking to give to all those in need, willing to be a martyr even to death.
But yet if I have not love, it is all worthless. Help me Lord through Your Spirit to have a true agape love that is to your honour and glory through your power and grace.
Love: is patient, is kind, doesn't envy, doesn't boast, is not arrogant, is not rude, rejoices in nothing less than the truth, it does not compromise or lose hope under the most adverse circumstances, it esteems others better than itself, through enduring becomes stronger rather than weaker, and God never fails!

Tis' a time that we should consider

It isn't right to be the least bit bitter

Some pick a day to show devotion

I say love is not supposed to be only emotion

Not just today lets look above

And receive the power of true love

There is but One entrance

And not your typical romance

Come to Him is the call and our plea

Come to the Son of God and blessed thou shall be

Wreckers or Builders

Post by ken_sylvania »

I watched them tearing a building down,
A gang of men in a busy town.
With a ho-heave-ho and a lusty yell,
They swung a beam, and the side wall fell.
I asked the foreman: "Are these skilled--
And the men you'd hire if you had to build?"
He gave me a laugh and said: "No, indeed!
Just common labor is all I need.
I can wreck in a day or two
What builders have taken a year to do."
And I thought to myself as I went my way,
Which of these roles have I tried to play?
Am I a builder who works with care
Measuring life by a rule and square?
Am I shaping my deeds to a well made Plan,
Patiently doing the best I can?
Or am I a wrecker, who walks the town
Content with the labor of tearing down?

As surely as our skies shine here below,
Jesus sits beside the Father above.

Loud are the trials and afflictions we face,
louder still are the eternal praises echoing the Throne Room.

How dim the glow by which we see our way,
while the Father of Light gleams the skies of Paradise.

Ceaselessly the world about use drones in turmoil,
as an unrippled peace traces Heaven's eternal shores.

In a reality far more real.

From: The Lights of Home by Pathway
We, the Guilty
They smote you on your cheek, dear Lord,
They spit right in your face.
I wonder, would I have done the same,
Had I been in their place?

I hang my head in shame, O Lord,
As grieving I must say,
That we have done these wrongs to You,
Not just some distant "they".

We placed upon your holy head
A prickly, thorny crown,
And mocking You, we dressed You in
A royal purple gown.

We flogged with scourging whip, O Lord,
We plowed your tender back;
We hated your forgiving heart
Because our own were black.

We placed upon your aching frame
The cross which spelled your death.
But in your heart your love still burned,
"Forgive," your dying breath.

You did not only speak the words,
"My Father, please forgive!"
But made forgiveness possible-
You died so we could live.

Romans 8:38
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord..

A piercing flame ruptured the night
that beckoned him to death.
To Calvary, dragged, the Holy Son
to breathe last earthen breath.

Loud hate; rejection from those He loved
be all that he was clothed in,
and by the gnashing of a whip,
striped and torn was His skin

Still strong in love, though weak in flesh,
onward climbed King Jesus.
Ascending high onto that cross;
'twas there that He would free us.

From heaving breath did cry our Lord
words sweet eternally:
"It is finished";
sin's curse is lost!
Salvation's offered to me!
