There is a usually a call-in line that you can listen live. We have purchased recordings in the past. They are good quality.

He is in fact the speaker for our district weekend meetings in the fall. And we are a conference church, for sure.mike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 1:03 pmNo, he wasn't. He's still there, and with one or two others has for many years been considered a teaching elder or something similar. At Shippensburg, laypersons routinely teach and preach, and titles and position don't mean quite as much as they do in most conservative Mennonite churches. Which in my opinion is how it should be.eccentric_rambler wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 12:50 pmWas he never ordained at Shippenseburg? Or did he move on from there?mike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 7:32 am He's a well-known speaker in the conservative Anabaptist world, particularly in the non-affiliated churches. As he's not an ordained minister, and parted ways with a conservative Mennonite conference years ago, the conference churches generally don't invite him. Some of his talks are on YouTube.

The old woodcutter spoke again. “It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?"

This will be my “liveblog” with notes or thoughts.
One of the speakers today (J. D.) refers to theological-conservative Mennonite churches as “progressive Mennonite”, having formerly been part such a church himself. I found this interesting.
