the heart is a machine, and machines wear out.
now, whether it is accelerated by the vaccine, i don't have an answer to that. there is certainly that possibility.
but valves wearing out, is not a new thing.
and two of the biggest symptoms are shortness of breath and fatigue.
we send a lot of folks for valve work.
it’s unnerving on one hand, helpful to have an idea why this last year has been so different, on the other.
the echocardiogram is scheduled for Nov 8.
from what i’m reading, if surgery is recommended, i’ll do it. it doesn’t sound like fun.
but i would be glad to feel better. (i’m not in pain.) my breath is ok, i think. i’m tired. i do what i have to, but i have to work at it.
it’s a distinct change from a year ago.
i’ve kept thinking, “i’ll rest, then do better tomorrow.” but. 365 tomorrows without doing better! i didn’t think of my heart.
so. we’ll see. if recommended, i don’t see an upside to delaying surgery. i don’t want to risk an emergency.
