The Anabaptist perception towards jellies & jams!

We need a food poll.

I have a list with over 25 varieties. Can only list ten. Pick your three (3) favorite and comment with those not listed.

I had some spicy chili maple bacon jam that made for an excellent glaze for chicken.

Cherry and currant are both favourites in our home.
Oops forgot to add dandelion too! We call it vegan honey though.

I wasn't raised around jams and preserves that much. If the bread is fresh, I always prefer butter only.

I like jams much better than jellies and my strongest opinion on the matter is that grape jelly isn't fit for human consumption. Unfortunately my kids seem to think it is the only viable ingredient for making PB&J sandwiches and get upset if I bring home anything else.

My favorite condiment on toast is probably good tart orange marmalade but I think the quality of the toast is more important than the quality of the jam. Of the poll options, probably strawberry.

Hot bread right out of the oven with butter is basically crack as far as I'm concerned. A little honey doesn't hurt it any though.

My grandma made these together - wild cherry and currant. Very full of flavor, so you didn't need to "pile it on" like most jellies and jams today.
