The suspense! Boy? Girl?
or waiting until they tell you?

learned my fav uncle passed. 96. he will be missed. good man.
i have one living uncle. they were close. he will take it hard. he’s the one remaining of 9 siblings.

power is on, but my furnace went out. saturday night service call. $$$$
the weather wasn’t nearly as bad as earlier this week, but plenty cold.
repairman got here within a couple of hours. that was fortunate. new ignitor, he had it in his truck. :D
i hope he gets home ok. country roads are snowy-icy.

“Funerals are for the living.”

i believe this. maybe not every funeral, but, in general, a lot of good can come out of funerals, unexpected good.
because, who expects good from funerals?! i believe it’s part of the mystery of “how God works.” :)

there is a memorial service planned for next Saturday. i plan to go. barring weather/car problems.
it should be under 3 hours to get there.

i’ve gotten to talk with a few relatives not seen for years. hearing voices has been a real boost. :D
our annual family reunions, started in the 1950’s? on hold for the pandemic. the future is uncertain if they will ever resume, the originals are almost all gone. many moved away - but, in the past, some always returned to be there. the future for these reunions is uncertain.

my uncle and aunt were married 75 years. they were always together. they embodied selfless love everywhere they went.
he was a university firefighter for years. they did a lot of different things in their lives.

we will see what the weather does.
it’s nice winter weather right now. daylight hours increasing, which hints of spring. :)
day by day.

it’s interesting baby Lincoln arrived just when he did. ^^
when i was young, funerals always seemed to correlate with births, my mother would talk about the hope each new child brings.
her father, my grandfather’s name was Lincoln. :D a good and loving man. he is missed.

funny. i expect unexpected good from this memorial service. and i’m confident this would be my uncle’s heartfelt wish.

Another sign that I work in a rural school district: bring your tractor to school day.

Looks like some education might be in order there. One of these is not like the others.

You mean the Swather? I'm impressed they drove it to school.

Yes. They can be a bit different to drive. I've known of several experienced drivers, who've been driving the new faster ones on the road, and accidentally did a 180.
