he just looked at me and gently said, "i do that, too."
after that, i have not been so hard on myself over it.
when i'm alone, i just let the waterworks flow!
God's grace is the ultimate beauty.
No shame in allowing music to move you! A few years ago I captured a video of my children trying to sing along with BYU Vocal Point's "Nearer My God to Thee". I just hope they continue being moved by good music as they grow.

Here's the real video if that was just too much noise

It must have been in mid-1980’s when we viewed “Trip to Bountiful.” In a theater! Our son was born in 1983.
We visited Texas in 1983. Nice camping trip with our 6 year old daughter.
The hymn/theme song is a favorite.
A sad but touching film.
1985 / Opening scene with song / 1.34min
1985 / Movie / 1hr 47min
Softly and Tenderly / Song by Alan Jackson
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portals He's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, "O sinner come home"
O for the wonderful love He has promised
Promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me
Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home…

Alan Jackson? - must be an error:
Will Lamartine Thompson
“Softly and Tenderly,” which was originally known as “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling,” is a classic invitation hymn from the 19th century. It was written by Will Lamartine Thompson (1847-1909) who was a composer of gospel, secular, and patriotic songs.
