We are planning to fly from Portland out to PA for a family reunion this July in the Belleville area.
This is off topic, but interesting word usage. Here in PA. traveling to Oregon would be termed as going "out" to Oregon, (think going "out" west). Coming from the west to east, us Easterners would say we are coming "in" to PA.

We in the west, Oregon in my case, will say “out west” and “back east”. Back east being pretty much anywhere east of the Rockies.

i’ve heard “back east” mostly used to reference east of the Mississippi.
sometimes the line is east of ohio .. ohio was “the wild frontier” in early U.S. history.
it wasn’t that long ago.
and it can all fade more quickly than it was built. (i think to myself as i watch turkey buzzards fly over and land around idle commercial/industrial buildings that were vibrant not long ago.)
it really doesn’t take long to fade and decay. as if it never happened.
