This thread is a about work.
Looking for work, needing help, education/certifications for work ..
MD had a category on Occupations (?) ..
it was not used often, but, when it was, there were some positive outcomes.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Re: Work
Yesterday ..
i was able to visit 2 places looking for part-time work!
what a lift it was for my spirits!
i had not seen anything realistic in the weeks since i returned from helping my family .. then, 2 possibilities came up at once.
not offered a job, but i was able to speak with a manager at one, the owner at the other.
neither told me "no" and threw me out!
i should hear from them after Thanksgiving.
one was a parts driver for a car dealership, the other was customer service for a small pack+ship company. neither requires previous experience, neither described heavy lifting.
the manager at the car dealership asked if i would be interested in driving cars from one location to another? i've heard of this, i'm interested, i told him i would like to know more. he said, if i were hired as the parts driver, i would do this occasionally (not long distances.) .. and, they have some who do only this as part time work. that's hopeful!
i asked my auto repair shop folks if they knew anything about this job, they said they knew of different retired people who transport cars, and believe this to be a good part time job for retirees.
Fed Ex is hiring part-time for package handlers. i would like that job!
but, i'm sure i could not keep up with lifting, or pace. so. won't go there.
winter driving. ugh.
o.well. it is what it is.
