We don't think we do. He is going to ru(i)n our country as well. Softwood tariffs, milk wars, etc. We may as well build a wall as well. Even Obama was hardly as socialist as our conservatives.

someone commented on that, where i first saw this. i find it comical, anyway. better for a February post, but, i doubted i would remember that long.

other unconfirmed comments i noticed -
it’s located in Japan;
why do the trees appear to be growing at the top of the snowpiles?

i’m easy. i think it’s funny, even if full of flaws. :mrgreen:
i’ve seen roads close to this!

even here in the midwest u.s., wind can cause huge piles of drifting snow on highways, that plows must forge through. altho, the roads are not typically as snow/ice free as these appear to be.
i’ve heard, Switzerland has (some) heated highways (?) .. but, not at all sure about that.

one place we lived near was a military base that used a large central hot water heat system for buildings+residences (i think.) this was built long ago, i believe, since defunct. however, they cleverly designed it so the hot water pipes were under many of the (busy) sidewalks, which kept sidewalks clear. that may have been a WWII construct.

my dear father in law, an engineer, decided to heat their short+steep concrete driveway, he did it himself! before i met them. their driveway went into a single car garage under their kitchen. their original house was a tiny bungalow. they added some, over the years. so inventive, creative, resourceful.

they lived 60 years in one house!
they paid $5,000 cash for it, never made a mortgage payment in their marriage.
that’s something to think about.

coincidentally, he loved shoveling snow, and ice fishing.
i guess i picked up some of his snow shoveling habits. i’m not in his league, but, our neighbors are ‘way behind us on that! lol my husband and i could shovel our drive, and some neighbors, before the plows ever arrived. two working together can get a lot done, and enjoy it. the good old days. :mrgreen:

We came through that area about 10 hours before, not surprising there was a major accident considering on-going road work and how people drive. We try to avoid that stretch of road as much as possible.

We were heading south on 400 to the Highway 400 and 89 interchange on Wednesday morning after the Tuesday night fire but took a cross country detour to reach our destination because all lanes were still closed. We had no idea why all lanes would be closed. On Wednesday evening on our way home, we avoided that intersection again, in favour of back roads. Normally we would stick to the 400 as the fastest way of getting to our destination.

Perhaps the road was damaged by the fire. I've seen asphalt puddled from the intense heat of a fuel fire.
