Meanwhile, in Canada

This thread is for news, questions, thoughts, facts .. feelings .. about Canada.
Just saw this:
Ontario - Sam Oosterhoff, Homeschooled Pro-Life Teen Wins Election
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-l ... -398997117

i need to read this report again, maybe two more times.
i'm smiling, but have no conclusions. sharing.
:D

for me, LSN is valuable.
i see it as a pro life, pro traditional marriage, Catholic news site.

i don't see it as perfect,
but, i really appreciate reading about some news out of Canada, Mexico, Africa, South America, and other countries .. that is not covered in the U.S. mainstream, or, even U.S. non-mainstream, news.

it's based in Canada.
i can handle the Canadian, and Catholic, pov. what else would one expect from it? :?
YMMV. :D

 this thread is NOT meant to be LSN-exclusive!

LifeSiteNews tends to exaggerate, repeat poorly sourced stories, and use clickbait headlines. Just because I usually like what they are saying doesn't mean they are in the service of truth.

Let's try not to keep repeating fake news. There are lots of good, reputable outlets talking about things like this.

please add your superior sources. :D i don't have others.
i don't believe they are lying, that's probably an exaggeration.

i will rely on MN's admin and mods to censor, if that's agreeable with you. :)

Pretty much every news outlet covering Ontario covered this.

I don't think MN censors much of anything but we do rely on our community to filter out unreliable news sources. If I started posting Daily Kos links, I would expect to get challenged.

I am strongly pro life. I think our pro life cause is harmed when it's promoted with click bait and yellow journalism.

What sources were you reading, Josh, that suggest this is not truth?

I don't have any doubt as to this veracity of this story.

I am questioning LifeSiteNews' overall quality as a news source.

You will hardly find one reliable news source in Canada. The best you can do is read 3 or 4 and and take the average. That and stay away from the Ottawa Citizen.
