'Spectacular' Gold Ring With Christ Image Among 30,000 Archaeological Finds
The gold ring, thought to date to the beginning of the 15th century, features a carved figure of Christ. Given its shape and size, it may have been worn by a woman, the archaeologists suggested.
Admittedly the ring is a find; and admittedly the image might be Christ. But frankly it could be anyone from that era and the archaeology team would certainly qualify that by using hypothetical language such as "perhaps" in their discussions of the image. Then I thought: what if the image turned out to be Fred, the woman's husband?
